Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

Man, the thought of being ousted by Montreal or Ottawa in the 1st round is damn near unliveable.

As much as an elimination by a Florida based team would blow monkey chunks, losing to Ottawa or Montreal would be unbearable.
This team has also been absolutely terrible against Ottawa this season. I for one would almost rather have Florida or Tampa at this point.

Unbearable to ownership hopefully as well if it happens. If this team can't beat Ottawa or Montreal, they aren't going to go very far against anyone. Win the division, and then win rounds.. .hopefully four. We are going to have to face challenges along the way, I don't care who we end up playing, if they play their best, they can compete against anyone.

If CBJ and Montreal 1.0
Weren’t unbearable. I don’t see how losing to Ottawa will be

Montreal at least had some valid reasons... Tavares was out, and Matthews had his wrist chopped, resulting in needing off season surgery. No team is going to progress with their top two C's basically out, or their effectiveness nulified.

That being said, they said at the time patience was needed, and the team needed to grow. This offseason, Shanahan suggested that the time for patience had passed, when they let Dubas go..... So, it's a glimmer of hope, that the patience has indeed expired.

What about all that talent we heard about?

Surprised they’re playing the back up tonight.
I don't think it will matter much who Florida starts in these games. Their offense has fallen off a cliff and the injuries and suspension have really dragged them down. They will limp into the third seed, and then probably turn around and beat Tampa in 5 games.

That has to be quite a scene for Ryan Leonard to walk into in Washington. Walk into the dressing room from college and bear witness to a guy becoming the leading goal scorer in league history.
