Doug Armstrong should get GM of the year. Dude turned his franchise around making some really bold moves with the Holloway/Broberg offer sheets and wasting no time in snatching up Monty when he was available to be his coach. Insane run the Blues have gone on.

Yeah, just give Draisaitl the Hart. He has carried his mediocre team the whole year
Wish the Leafs could have such an insane clutch player like Draisaitl let alone the Oilers having McDavid too. Our best players are good, but inconsistent come playoff time.

Another season where the Leafs walk into the playoffs twirling a cane. But hey, at least there's some intrigue with the race between Tampa and Florida and not what the last 3 years have been, de facto clinched in December and running it out for 2nd.
Now for magic numbers.
They currently have 92 points in 73 games.
Boston, Pittsburgh, Philly and Buffalo are out.
Ottawa with 83 in 72 has a fairly robust 11.
The Rangers with 77 in 74 are a little more precarious with a magic number of 1.
Montréal and Columbus both have 75 in 72, magic number 3. Of further note is Montréal is currently 20th overall and likely to finish anywhere from 16th-23rd. I don't see any of Schaefer, Misa, Martone or Hagens wearing the red and blue toilet seat, but they do also have Calgary's pick which should be in the same area. They're on the come up.
The Islanders with 74 in 72 have 2.
The Wings with 74 in 73 have 0 or 1, but the best they can do is reach the current Leaf total of 92 points but would lose out on tiebreakers.
With 1 more win and losses by CBJ or the Habs and a tie by the Islanders the Leafs clinch.
Edit: I'd also give Drai the Hart but it likely goes to Mack.

Rangers are the best of the worst and might give the Caps the best run in the playoffs due to Shesterkin. Wings look like they think they still have a shot with a big win over Boston. Talbot with a game saver with 12 seconds left on Mittlestat. Impressed from what I have seen from Mittlestat in black and gold. Might turn out to be a very good trade for the bad guys.

Kings have the much better goalie and D, especially at home. A bad Stuart Skinner could tilt the ice for the Kings.

I think Montreal may actually end up sneaking into the 8th seed. They have been really good against Florida this season and can win the two remaining games against them. They will lose to the Leafs and probably again to Carolina, but the rest of their schedule is pretty light (Chicago, Nashville, Detroit, Boston, Philly).

Go Habs!!.. Man do I feel dirty saying that. Up 1-0 in the first over Florida. Leafs fans are Habs fans for the day... even if you need to shower after.

Montreal has Florida's number this season. I think Montreal will win today and in the next game against Florida, especially with how Florida is playing right now.
