Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Tampa Bay Lightning defeats the Stars 3-2 in the shootout, in Dallas.
They manage to keep pace with both the Leafs and the Panthers in the Atlantic division Standings tonight. The race for the division title this season will really go right down to the wire.

The Oilers might regret that one.
That was gutsy as f*** by Doug Armstrong. I respect the hell out of when GMs are willing to take risks and do something outside the box. Locking in your future 1/2C and a potential top pairing D for basically a second, two thirds, and a mid tier spec in Paul Fischer is crazy work. Oilers got punked there badly, terrible asset management.

You hate to see it, but at least they got Hyman.:sarcasm:

No they can't. They are in different divisions.

Devils closed rival in division is NYI. There are currently eight points back, though they have two games in hand.

Thanks. I looked at that but kind of rushed through the thought process as the Devils look so mediocre, compared to what was expected.

EDIT:

Florida - Ottawa would be a great series with the 2 Tkachuks (if he's back) trying to injure each other.

I think Florida will fall to third in the division and play Tampa. The Leafs will likely play Ottawa unless one of the Islanders or Montreal can catch Ottawa, with Washington getting whoever sneaks into the 8th spot. Carolina/Jersey is set.

Based on what?

Florida and Tor both have 5 games remaining agsinst playoff teams. TB has 4 games left against playoff teams.

Tor/Fla play each other twice.
Tor/TB once.
Fla/TB once

Teams have been close to each other all year and Fla is just going to give up?

I don't see it.

Tor can control their own fate if they win the two games against Fla. But they are 0-2 so far this year so..

Their Mommy would likely step on the ice and separate them while also banning them to separate seats in her mini-van !!!

Florida is severely short-handed right now. Missing one of their best forwards and two of their top 3 defensemen. They aren't going to give up. They just won't be good enough.

I wouldn't count them out. They don't have a tough schedule. They have the Leafs number in the same way the Leafs have TB's.

Checked out the Pittsburgh game
Dewar is on the 2nd line and Timmins is playing with Letang

Dewar 6 gp 3 g 2:a 5 pts
Timmins 6:gp 1 g :3 a 4 pts +7
Wow
Cap dump

Garbage time points. Leafs post Sundin pre Matthews had lots of guys going on those sort of runs when they were out of it. I'll never forget that Boyd Devereux hatty in game 82 to screw up our draft pick lol.

I think florida will struggle to keep up with Tampa Bay, let alone the Leafs. I don't think they have any chance to keep pace with the Leafs given their injuries and the teams' respective schedules.
