Some Islanders fans I believe said they have played better without him. Idk if that's in the past or recently so idk if that's true or was just an inside joke I wouldn't know about.
Hardly close to the Leafs record without Matthews.

We should be glad that Ottawa wasted the past two years and didn’t find out if their players can play in the playoffs. With the Atlantic there for the taking it’s not the ideal time to be figuring out what you lack.

Interesting.

As poor as Matthews has been, he is still 1st in goals over past 82.( tied with Kaprizov).

Marner with 85 assists is pretty damn good too

Yeah I was surprised by Kaprisov's numbers as well, I guess I never really thought of him as that dynamic a goal scorer.
There are some names that are less than ppg that I found surprising.

We won't mention Marner or assists, we know where that will lead.

50+ goal club.

Players who actually scored 50+ last season.

Health and timing is everything.
Karprizov for the Rocket.

I agree with evilhomer, Ottawa will stumble (a little bit) but I had them picked as a WC team just by the addition of Ulmark. Hasn't exactly played out that way but I stand by my prediction. TB takes 3rd in the division.

Btw, Toronto won a division title - Canadian division, covid year. It counts, or did TB not win back to back cups? Did we not lose to the habs in 2021? If those things happened, then we won a division title.
Ottawa won't win a division title in the Matthews era before Toronto because they can't.
I tried to block out the North Division as not only we lost to the worst playoffs team, and of all the seasons, it was that season that got into the All or Nothing series.
