All this Hyman talk and all his points. People forget who he plays with.

He is playing with possibly the greatest player in our lifetime. Period.

He doesn’t have half these stats if he departed for Anaheim or even Florida.

And if he stayed in Toronto he would be the same player that we knew. Half ass.

You have to remember not everyone who plays with #97 works out and can stay there. There has been a constant revolving door of wingers for years. Crosby as well always had a constant revolving door of wingers over the years. Regardless how you feel about Hyman he's gelled with Edmonton very nicely and has a great cap hit also. It's not just goals and points though. Away from the puck he has been an absolute beast and has the most hits in the playoffs this year. He's hitting everything that moves.

There was a YouTuber talking about the Florida Panthers re-uniting Tkachuck-Dvorak and Marner in Florida. Can you imagine that top 6 if they did that?

Vet after Vet have come here and praised these young stars on their work ethics and love for the game.

But fans don’t see a Tucker growl or Gilmour poking the bear and hiding and they think 34 and the core 5 have no heart.

That’s just pure hogwash IMHO

And say heart is important and take a guy like Salming or Clark and supposedly they were all surrounded with players with this “heart”

Why didn’t they win the cup ?

They won squat just like our core 5

And those players had no cap so management could pay them whatever they wanted and get whoever they wanted.

Maybe there are other intangibles in the game that’s preventing us from success instead of this over blown lack of heart excuse

If I'm Florida I cash out of Bennet now before the decline and I move into some Marner Stock. He likely ages much better. He's going to be surrounded by winners like Barkov, Reinheart and Tkachuck.

Playoffs top speed 20.69, below 50th

Matthews 22.51 61st percentile, 21.16 below 50th percentile

Playoffs 21.16, below 50th percentile

Tavares Regular 22.05, PO 21.59, below 50th percentile

Domi Regular season 23.35, 94th percentile, PO 21.42, below 50th percentile.

A guy like McDavid is right about at the same speed, regular season and playoffs.

Why exactly do our guys... who seem to possess some decent speed in the regular season, suddenly get so slow in the playoffs... I mean, look how much Marner dropped off... that's absolutely incredible. We have some players who are fast, they just don't skate hard/fast in the playoffs... why?? Small sample size maybe... I don't know, but you'd think in 13 games you'd have the chance to skate.

I listened to a podcast short, and they talked about Florida... have Barkov and Rienhart... relatively soft players, but then we have Marner, Matthews, Nylander, Tavares who are all kind of the same... relatively soft players... Florida has some harder players higher up in the lineup to diversify themselves... Tkachuk, Bennett.....

I think everyone here would agree that Marner is more talented by multiples... but Bennett achieves more in the playoffs... we need to move off some softer guys, and diversify with some harder edge dudes. Sometimes building balance, and chemistry, is more important than building an All Star team. I think Bennett extends with Florida, but we do need to change what hasn't worked, and build more balance.
