Ottawa, Boston and Tampa are all as mediocre as it gets. None of them will pass the Leafs. Mind you, not because the Leafs are playing great, but simply because those teams will all lose 4 or 5 games in a row at some point. That said, an Ottawa/Toronto playoff series would be great fun to watch.

There has to more than just that? The difference between mediocrity and whatever the Leafs are can’t be the width of a hair.

Most would agree the reason the Leafs are mediocre is the lack of talent and poor cap management.
