Rangers aren’t the juggernaut people think they are. They played in the worst division in hockey. Only 2 good teams in that entire division so the Rangers win stats are massively padded. Florida is a buzz saw they never had to contend with in the regular season. Be interesting to see if they adapt.

Rags might be the actual "power play merchants" in the league this year. +53 goal differential but only +1 of that was at even strength.

I have a feeling that Woodcroft might not be as sexy a candidate as fans here and the media think he is. Has anyone even heard his name mentioned on the periphery of any of the coaching vacancies? I've heard almost every name except his.

I was never a major Woodcroft fan, he seemed snake oil salesmany to me and loved hearing himself talk. You wonder if those more in the know don't like the schtick, or see that he's more schtick than substance.

To be fair that wasn’t the Rangers best game by any means. This game should’ve been a scoreless tie headed for OT. Game 2 I expect to see a different team.
