I still stand by my prediction, the first 2 months Zacha will make Devil's fans very angry, and then Boston fans for the rest of the season after that.

He's also playing for a contract this year. It wouldn't surprise me if he puts up big numbers, gets paid next summer, and then goes right back to infuriating everybody with his mercurial play immediately after that.

He likely won’t end up at 70 points so it’s a bit of an empty question.

It still wouldn’t be an indictment on the Devils players. Last year multiple players were able to rack up points while Zacha couldn’t ride along. The only fault in this is Zacha for either lacking mindset, ability, or some of both.

He also got booted off of PP1 which was awful all year (and PP2, with him, was not good).

But yeah he played with Nico most of the year, Nico ended up with points on 80% of the goals scored when he was on the ice, Zacha ended up with 60%.

lol what a joke thank god he was forced out here. only thing that would make this more comical is if conte son got a gig there too

I’m at least gonna be the honest one here, I’m not only gonna be kinda pissed if Zacha scores 80+ points with the Bruins, I fully expect it to happen, even if he doesn’t play much on with Bergeron and Pasta. I’d be upset if that happened anywhere outside of us, but as I’ve mentioned, Boston is a fetid hive of awful fans, so it’ll be a little extra annoying for me.

let me put everyones mind at ease here zacha isn't scoring 80pts and even if by some miracle he does he 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% wasn't going to do it here so good riddance. sometimes a player does need a change of scenery to wake them up maybe that will happen to him but i highly doubt it. guy is just bleh

He's also big and plays soft. The talking heads on Boston sports radio HATE that. They'd rather have guys like David Backes because they have "heart and soul". I'm actually looking forward to Felger and Masarotti and their callers finding a new whipping boy. I listen to that show regularly for the entertainment factor and trust me - even if he plays at 50ish point pace they will find things to rag on him. They're all about the hard workers, "will to win", give 110% at all times types of players there.

I lived there for 7 years and hated every second while I was there ...

Strange though, as time has past, I look back on that time with fond memories...kind of weird
I lived in Albuquerque for exactly one year and can't stand the place. Loathed it from the first night I was there (thanks scorpion in my bed).

But I'm still very close with my college roommate who also happens to be from NJ and when we discuss it we certainly talk about the good times an awful lot.

I’ve been practically obsessed Chris Lamoriello since forever, I’m practically shaking with excitement with this news lol. And it’s the f***ing Islanders too. It’s just too glorious and perfect.

It feels like a Wang move too, I guess his DNA is imprinted into the team or something.

Good lord. I thought Poile might pull off getting his son to inherit his job in Nashville, even though that’s super f***ing weird, but props to Lou (if this actually happens, please reality don’t screw it up).

I mean, Chris’ only claim to fame is being a GM of unsuccessful AHL teams for his dad and… doing whatever else Lou let’s him do I guess, and now his Dad will install him as his successor even though he’s only been on the Island since 2018.

Maybe this is the reward for extending Barzal lol.

You won with this! 😂🤣

They whacked him, they freakin whacked him!

@Bleedred started it, I just made it R-rated

This is the NHL, guys getting their son on staff happens all the time.

Having your son as an Assistant GM is pretty rare, the only other example that comes to mind is Brian Poile (Nashville). (I could easily be missing obvious examples I forget NHL GM lore easily.)

Doug Wilson, Jr only got to Director of Scouting before his dad got pushed out in San Jose.

Stan Bowman never worked for Scotty Bowman, even if he benefited from nepotism.

This is takes nepotism to a whole new outragous level, I used to make jokes about this happening to the Devils years and years ago and now it’s actually happening… to the Islanders.

There are no sure things when it comes to prospects.

I'm pretty sure Hockey's Future at one point had Chistov as the #1 rated prospect.
