Ok. Here. We. Go!!!

I'm as big an advocate about workers' rights as the next guy (and I think it's clear I'm more liberal with my views), but I have a very hard time seeing a case here.

I believe she has PTSD.

I believe she has a heart condition.

But based on the behaviors outlined in the complaint, it doesn't sound like she was fired for that or her gender.

“I take a lot of pride in my work with the Vancouver Canucks, being a good leader, a person of high moral character, and always respecting and putting my co-workers first. These allegations by Ms. Doerrie are absolutely not true and her allegations of what I said to her are false and inaccurate. At no time was Ms. Doerrie treated differently due to gender, a mental disability, or a physical condition. As this is a legal matter, I will not make any further comments and will respect the process.”

@King'sPawn This sounds like it has all the makings of a Johnny Depp and Amber Heard moment.

I agree.

And there are some arguable facts which have come out. Namely, she may have been fired for discussing her promotion to the media.

If that's the cause for firing, that's a fairly flimsy one, considering the number of media leaks we frequently hear.

sounds like your typical "ambulance chaser" lawsuit to me

fired unceremoniously, lawyer shows up and goes "do you have any disabilities or are you a protected class? great!"

not sure if he's worth that but he's a good player

guess they can afford to get away with it for now
I think he's for sure worth it, though he's a bit older than most would expect given that he broke out only 1-2 years ago (26). I watch Dallas as much as I can, and he's an absolute horse with the puck. He reminds me of a cross between Jeff Carter and Mikko Rantanen.

They're also now paying their #1C and #1D about $17M total. That's not bad given their age the fact that the cap should start going up again after this year.

Pretty big insult to Hintz imo
haha - i did say way more consistent. He has the gallop in his skating and burns guys (like when Kempe decides he feels like playing).. is a moose and has a nice shot... actually his HIQ is quite a bit higher.. So yes Kempe isnt the best analogy i guess 🤷

Given the insane amount of goals we've given up this year, it's crazy that Anaheim has still given up 8 more goals in 2 fewer games! We've also scored 31 more goals than they have! We certainly should be better, but it could be a lot worse.
