Found this floating around Reddit, it's apparently the cost for the "worst" seat for Round 1 for each playoff team

This is Crosby’s 18th season and he hasn’t missed the playoffs since he was a rookie.

And I remember being at the “Parise’s better!” home opener win.

Parise got a goal and an assist, while Crosby got an assist. Just ignore that Crosby was 18 and Parise was 21, and that one player ended up 32 points and the other ended up with 39 goals (and 102 points).

Basically I was going to make an off-hand comment and instead I decided to make myself feel ancient.

Missing the playoffs allowed Crosby to go the World Championships. Bergeron was also on that team, as was Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, Mike Cammalleri, etc.

Ovechkin, Malkin and Semin all played for Russia.

So of course Canada came in 4th and Russia didn’t medal at all. It was Sweden (gold), Czech Republic (silver) and Finland (bronze).

I used to follow Brylin like @glenwo2 follows Bratt. I somehow remember that boxscore but not the game itself. Lol.

Good times.

I remember that game just because it was our season opener and first real game in 1.5 years, after the lockout.

That was also Mario Lemieux’s 40th birthday. He retired for good like two months later.

Cool trivia about Mario’s birthday is that both he and Patrick Roy were born the same day. I wonder if there are two other hall of famers that were both born on the same day and year?

I'm surprised they wouldn't even give him a 1 year retirement gold watch contract. It's not like they should expect to be good next season.

I would give it even odds that he chooses to retire, but he might want to try elsewhere. That would result in one of those cursed pictures of iconic players in the "wrong" sweater.

I imagine that his health will dictate his decision. If he's fatigued and achy you'd presume he's smart enough to focus on his long term health. He's made enough money for more than one lifetime and should be able to find something hockey related to work in should he really miss it. I'm not sure how tainted he is by the scandal to the average hockey fan which may or may not have something to do with the decision by the Blackhawks.

If I'm a Blackhawks fan and I can get to the United Center tonight I'm grabbing a ticket. Towes was nothing but, class and a humble start player.

I soured on him after the Kyle Beach stuff came out. I soured on him A LOT.

I also think he's probably the most overrated player of his generation, but that's not his fault.

If this is it for him? I only think he's a borderline hall of famer. He wasn't really better than Patrik Elias other than being a captain for 3 Stanley Cup teams and getting the Conn Smythe one of those times.

He don't even have 1000 points. Actually, he won't even finish with 900 if this is it for him.

I see him kind of like a Brad Richards, only he captained 3 cups winners and won a Conn Smythe, which is something Brad Richards also has. Most Hawks fans will fight me on that and say ''Dat leadership tho'' or intangibles or something.

Again, it's not his fault that people overrated him, but he's certainly no legend. But you know if he don't play again after this year, he's going right into the HOF class of 2026.

I wasn’t at the game but I remember watching it on tv and hating that NJ was going to be Crosby’s debut. For no other reason than I was afraid if he scored I’d have to see it over and over again.

Funny enough, that didn’t happen, but Malkin did later score a signature goal against Marty that I’ve probably seen more than any other NHL highlight.

Anyway, I actually liked the Parise’s better chants, they came through on the broadcast. I like to think that everyone doing the chants knew he wasn’t better, but the real message was “we spoiled your debut, now go home.”
