I don't mind seeing Hyman do well, I don't mind seeing Moore and Durzi taking off in LA. I can live with Verhaeghe, and as much as Marchment hurts, he really did take a step after we dealt him. I can live with watching Brown and Kadri be good players elsewhere.

However, it f***ing hurts seeing how good Seth Jarvis is already. This guy would be the ideal add to our forward group right now. He's playing OT minutes beside Aho at age 20. Imagine if we had bridged someone so we didn't need to give that pick up?

Someone want to explain why they want to blow up the Leafs when there are at least 4 teams currently in the playoffs not better than them?

Sooner or later, they are going to win in the playoffs.
Angry fan demand sacrifice

You should quote and ask whoever it is you're referring to.

Doesn't help that Amirov's health took a turn.

If Rodion can rebound and become a player, that can salvage that a bit.

Firstly, is this a joke?! Look at all the teams we're better than that are still in the playoffs....!?
I've seen maybe one poster who wants to blow it up. But to some trading one core piece IS blowing it up.

Depends what comes back. Using Nylander as an example, it's not blowing it up if a roster player(s) come back for him. If the return is draft picks that the team intends to keep, that's a much different dynamic.

Thank Lou for that one

Lou didn't trade Marleau's rights to Carolina for first. He overpaid for Marleau when we had cap space and only by a year
He wanted a vet presence who can still play the game. He played decent for us, provided much needed depth on 3rd line

It's Kyle who messed everything up by giving John T the contract. A contract that was huge and lengthy

That was the turning point for everything crap by Dubas. That started the chain of bad contracts, getting left over players from the league, not able to get D or goalies

According to posters around here, if you make a significant trade it's a blow it up
If you hire someone with experience = dinasaurs
If you want to get players with grit it has to come of the expense of skill. Grit means you have to drop the gloves or goon.
Getting rid of Dubas/Keefe means going back to Nonis/Burke era with Carlyle and Babcock

Everything is just black and white

So true
And I love the "Tell me exactly what you'd do to fix things" like I have a staff ,advisors, contacts around the league, scouts etc
Or the even better, so you think you'd do a better job?

None of us have those things. Hasn't stopped other posters from making suggestions. You don't have to be exact.

You've been criticizing Dubas as a poor/not good enough GM. Shouldn't you NOT want him to make trades?

Ideally he'd be gone. But he has done some good things and since he's still here - what choice do I have?
Suggesting trades/upgrades whatever is more than fine but asking me to list every detail to improve the team is just deflecting

Lou giving the third year was inexcusable and especially so the way the deal was structured.
There’s 0 fault in obtaining a prime aged ppg+ 2way hometown 1C, there is in giving a 38 year old 3 years when the only other offers were 1 and 2. Lou screwed it up, Kyle cleaned up the mess… much like with Zaitsev

Zaitsev no doubt was a terrible signee.. he did show some promise but to give him that contract really Highlights how out of touch he was becoming

I wanted JT. Especially we got him in his prime. But that doesn't take away that contract has handcuffed this organization.

Dubas has the midas touch. He will always find gold. Lucky to have him. Hope he signs a 10 year extension.

It sucks that all our big contracts came right before Covid. An $11M salary under a $100M cap would be much easier to absorb.

Easy there, Wilbur.

You don’t handcuff yourself with 1c’s and 1w’s you handcuff yourself with boat anchor deals at the mid/bottom of the line up
