I have a question about draft positioning after something like this.

Do the AZ picks no longer exist? So in 2021, the first round has only 31 (Seattle added) and not 32? Won't that screw over that 32nd player who would have been a 1st round selection but is now round 2?

Their is really no difference between 1st & 2nd round other than the amount of performance bonuses,(ex. 1st overall usually gets $2.85M/yr in performance bonuses, the average 2nd round pick gets about $130K/yr) everybody signed out of most leagues gets a 3-year ELC. It's not like the NFL where the 1st round picks get 5-year deals & 2nd round picks get 4-year deals.

Linesman with a pick on a Bruin defender leads directly to Gourde goal and 2-0 TB lead.

I feel like I missed something. What did the coyotes do?

During the year, they had interviews and combine testing with draft eligible prospects.

It's a liability during normal seasons, but considering they were essentially the only team to get testing done on players during COVID, they have a significant advantage.

Something people would say about Arizona too. Being Bettman's first pet and all. Unless Bettman is just done with Arizona, and inching them along to Houston.

If he really wanted to hurry them to Houston he would have added the Sheriff Joe treatment -- make 'em suit up in pink uniforms and practice outdoors.

Now we know why the gm bolted early. He knew this was coming. Now imagine if Lou Lamarillo was gm , what kind of sneaky moved he'd create to get it reduced to a couple of late picks.

Chayka was actually trying to get a higher paying gig elsewhere before this happened, so this wasn’t the reason why he left. Though it does seem like his last parting gift to the Coyotes.

Not sure what he and his staff were thinking testing guys outside the combine. They had to know it was illegal to do it.

It's a crazy thing they did, but man I kinda feel bad for the Yotes. That is a brutal price to pay and it punishes mostly everyone that wasn't in the know of all this. The individuals that were in charge of it got away without penalty essentially. Those two picks are very valuable, losing them is a kidney shot to an already crippled team. A team that has had location issues too... I wonder if Bettman even has re-location designs somewhere in the back of his head or something... Probably not, but just savage.

It happened while Chayka was still GM. Whatever he left for, I hope it's good, because I doubt he'll ever get a GM job in this league again.

Feel bad for the Avs. They're getting swept.

Edit: Maybe not yet.

woo man, that was fun. Looked like the Stars were dead. Then it looked like the Avs were dead. Then the Stars were dead again. And all the while, building animosity. Hope this series goes at least six games because those guys were at each other's throats!
