Don't need Marchand. This team needs to re-sign Gabby, add a top four defenseman, and add some speed/skill to the bottom six.

I think the Rags got away with murder on the way that Krieder took out Price. He could have lowered his skates, turned his body etc. Plenty of ways to have lessened contact but instead he went karate kid style.

Oh well, Rags V ? will only lead to their not winning the cup which is fine.

Krieder actually has done that quite a bit in the past. Such a POS move.

Perry got away with too much of that kind of **** to Quick way too much.

Habs are finished without Price. Budaj isn't gonna win 4 against the Rangers.

People left the Rangers for dead after Game 4 against Pittsburgh too. Not only did the team get booed off the ice, but individual players were being picked out by the home crowd. Sure, no Price makes the Habs a long shot, but, you never know come playoff time.

Being down in a series is different from losing one of your core.

Price out for the series is a huge blow to MTL.The equivalent of the Kings losing one of Doughty,Quick,Kopitar.

I doubt MTL survives.

Thought Kreider did what he did on purpose live and the replays only backed it up.

Gets tripped so he knows he has a freebie so he took it. Don't see many guys go Ty Cobb into second base style when being tripped from behind.

Garbage move. I don't have a horse in the race as I hate the Habs and the Rangers bore me to death but that was straight garbage.

If that is Dustin Brown sliding in, 99% of the league would feel he fell that way on purpose. Prust is 100% spot on in regards to Kreider.

Nice of the NHL to not protect its star players. Kreider should of had to answer the bell; instead, he gets a couple of crosschecks from Prust and then they basically throw Prust out of the game. Simply embarassing.

Those plays can happen when you drive the net. I doubt he was concerned with Price on the play, but I don't think there's malice either. You can't compare this to Ty Cobb running bases.

He didn't fall into him and say "I'm going to blow his knee out" but he also wasn't going to be sad if it happened. He could of done better but he had a freebie and he took it.

I feel the Cobb comparison is apt. Not too often you see a guy go cleats-up into the goalie at full speed when tripped from behind.

He didn't go totally skates up and Cobb did it regularly because it wasn't illegal and his intent was to hurt any player that got in his way when he was running bases. It's just not the same at all.

The skates were up enough, IMO, when skating into a goalie. Granted, he didn't stick his skate blade up two feet in the air but Kreider at 20 MPH going blades first into the goaltender's knee is about as close to Cobb going into second as you are going to get in this sport.

I'm not going to belabor the apples-to-apples comparison between a early-1900s baseball player and Chris Kreider except to say, again, the reference makes sense. Not sure why you are fighting me on it unless you are a baseball historian.

Also, if this happened to Quick, there would be worse comparisons being made on this board.

If this happened to Quick there'd be a "chalk-outline" on the ice, if not, a missing persons report before the next game. (Alisa would be the prime suspect in my book.)

An extra cup support is always high on my list.

I think the Kreider play was BS, too. I didn't at first, but once I saw the replay that confirmed it in my eyes, then I saw this morning that he has done that several times...at some point it's not just 'driving the net' recklessly and a play in his game he needs to modify, like Raffi Torres driving up into chins.
