Benning reminds me of an HF user who thinks he's getting a steal every time his team trades for someone who was a high draft pick. I remember the gloating when they got Baertschi. Etem isn't that far off.

Etem was selected 29th so not that high of a draft pick but still a first round pick. The final pick Anaheim got from the Chris Pronger trade (the other being Luca Sbisa lol). Bob Murray always sits on these great prospect pools, never willing to trade any of them. You'd think he'd be able to upgrade the Ducks offense by packaging one of the 10 million Swedish defensemen in the Ducks system.

Might be waiting for the right thing, i.e. a Johansen or Drouin, imo. But I think he's at the point where he needs to make a decision in a way--is this a Perry/Getzlaf team? Then support them by trading some prospects for players. Is it going to be a youth movement? Then start considering getting rid of vets and further integrating youth. Theyre kind of stuck in no mans land at this point after losing players and bringing in patches. ANd one of the biggest reasons I hate the Kesler contract is because though it's a situation where you sign him knowing full well it will suck in three-four years, that signals he's all in now, right? So, act like it...I think he's gotta **** or get off the pot. Being patient is pointless
