What a horrible acquisition. Even as much as I thought Bieksa was awful before I never thought he'd cause so much trainwreckery. But I guess that goes to show you how important top-4 d-men are--when yours aren't working, everything goes to crap.

It's why Muzzin just might be the most underrated defender in the entire NHL.

Doughty is number one, but where would the Kings be without Muzzin ?

Um, ok. Taveras has 13 goals on the season, Getzlaf 1. I'm thinking Anaheim will take the trade any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Islanders, not so much.

31 games into the season, Kings were 14-13-4 with 32pts.
Anaheim is 12-14-5 for 29pts.

Seems close...but a few factors.. Kings had Quick putting on a Vezina calibur season and were losing a lot of 1 or 2 goal games. They didn't get blown out very much. Their goal differential was actually pretty solid despite the low scoring.

Anaheim isn't just not scoring...they're getting scored on.

Not only that... the Kings fired Terry Murray half-way through the season after a slide and brought in Sutter.

Bruce thinks they need to learn to play defense in the hopes that the offense comes around? They're nothing like the Kings from 11-12 who were already defensively sound.

I think Quick broke an NHL record that year for losses giving up only 1 goal.

It was something ridiculous , like 19 games of giving up 1 goal, and Quick lost 12 of them. Quick not winning the Hart/Vezina that year, was robbery.

made a bunch of trades when they didn't need to, now refuse to make any moves or fire the coach when they clearly need some life.

Murray has been fantastic with a lot of things but since the WCF he's been bamboozled.

From what I've read, nobody's doing anything this season. There's been i think 1 trade the entire year. A GM was quoted saying "I can't even make a bad trade" it's been that quiet.
