Bob was robbed. People will bring up his bad games, but McDavid didn’t have any points in 3 games this series. They penalize a goalie for bad games, but an offensive player who scores in bunches and has several no point games doesn’t get punished for his inconsistency? That is crap. People will just point to 11 points in 7 games and say “Wow”, but the best player on the ice tonight wasn’t McDavid. He was the best player on the ice when he was getting 4 points in games 4 and 5, but he wasn’t tonight.

If I was Boston I would've insisted on taking Forsberg back instead of Korpi. Maybe Korpi will creep his way back up to "below average" behind an actual defense?

The award is for the best player in ALL the playoffs, not the final.

McDavid wasn't the best player in the finals, but he was clearly the best player in all the playoffs

McDavid's stats are unquestionably great in this postseason. I'm sure there is some context, but I don't see anyone going back to check on Gretzky's garbage time points.

Personally, I thought Bob. Any of the three of them had a case, IMO.

The problem as I see it is that, with so much sports media (acknowledging of course that there's less of it in hockey than pro or college football, etc), all the chatter and speculation impacts how these things are done. BY that I mean, I think many voters are cognizant of how the awards they are bestowing impact the legacy of the best players.

So yes, I think McDavid may have gotten some momentum in the voting because voters wanted to ensure that the best of this generation has a Conn Smythe trophy.

My personal voting (not that it matters) was McDavid, Barkov, and Bob

It’s a playoff award not a finals award. McDavid was the best player in the playoffs AINEC. Bob was massive for the panthers in games 1-3 in the finals after just being “good” in the other series. But then he really cooled off. He was downright bad in game 4 and 6. But came up huge in 7. Barkov was more consistent.
