Why would Montreal take him ?I’m wondering if Stamkos would waive for MTL?
We sign Toews we gotta be favorites to win 2015 Cup.Toews as #1 C. RoR at #2. Gotta bump up that average age.
They need a number two center. Also, they are looking to dump Laine. Why would Montreal take him ?
If we're trading Stamkos, likely with 50% retention, we better get something better than Laine coming back. Would be in the doghouse within 20 games. They need a number two center. Also, they are looking to dump Laine.
Makes no sense to deal him with retention unless we get prime value back. Otherwise keep him if nobody wants him at full freight. He is still our 3rd best forward. If we're trading Stamkos, likely with 50% retention, we better get something better than Laine coming back. Would be in the doghouse within 20 games.
That’s why I wonder about their 1sts and ReinbacherIf we're trading Stamkos, likely with 50% retention, we better get something better than Laine coming back. Would be in the doghouse within 20 games.
We don't need more 1sts in this draft. I'd doubt they are interested in trading Reinbacher for a geriatric stop gap center. That’s why I wonder about their 1sts and Reinbacher
Sometimes people fall in love with a name, not the gameWe don't need more 1sts in this draft. I'd doubt they are interested in trading Reinbacher for a geriatric stop gap center.
I agree Stamkos at full retention should have great value. Just like marchessaultMakes no sense to deal him with retention unless we get prime value back. Otherwise keep him if nobody wants him at full freight. He is still our 3rd best forward.
Delusional if you think we can get Reinbacher included in any stamkos trade. Rather trade him max retention back to Tampa for Howard+That’s why I wonder about their 1sts and Reinbacher
All that talk about getting out of the mushy middle when hired just for trotz to hope to return to the mushy middle this year. UghO'Reilly is going to be a key player for us in terms of making the playoffs in 2026, so I don't think people should be putting his name into any trade scenarios?
I mean, ok, maybe things won't go exactly According To Plan next year, who knows right? So maybe at the 2026 TDL O'Reilly will go onto the trade market. But there is just no way Trotz is trading him before then.

Rather, for him to aspire to return. I doubt he will actually accomplish that. All that talk about getting out of the mushy middle when hired just for trotz to hope to return to the mushy middle this year. Ugh
For a late first I probably do it. What are the odds you find a guy even that good with one of those picks? I'm not sure on the 7 x 7, especially since he is a RFA with several years left to go. I think I might give him 7 if he agreed to a bridge deal, but I'd be a bit warry about it on 7 years. If the Rossi rumor of value being a late 1st is accurate, are you making that deal, if the same rumor is also accurate on his 7x7 asking price? That 7x7 ask feels like a negotiating stance and I'd guess the real number is lower. The late 1st doesn't bother me a bit to be honest. The asking price is high, but the hope would be you have a good idea on wiggle room before you make the deal and feel confident you can sign him. What say you?
Pretty much my exact thoughts. If that is the only cost, aside from contract, I have a hard time passing on it.For a late first I probably do it. I'd even throw a B or C level contract in there, or if he is in love with size as much as they say maybe I try and tempt him with McCarronPretty much my exact thoughts. If that is the only cost, aside from contract, I have a hard time passing on it.
I think it’s pretty safe to say that rumor could not have been accurate. Rossi was a much higher pick who has basically panned out. He is worth much much more than a late 1st… especially one in this year’s draft. If the Rossi rumor of value being a late 1st is accurate, are you making that deal, if the same rumor is also accurate on his 7x7 asking price? World Champion Matthew McCarron. He now has his serial winner bona fides, so demand should be high.I'd even throw a B or C level contract in there, or if he is in love with size as much as they say maybe I try and tempt him with McCarron![]()
I know this is voicing frustration, and many of us aren't far off...but realistically if this is where we are we may as well just press fast forward until the team gets moved or something. If we aren't trying to get better then what are we doing?Knowing the current state of the team/coaching, I dont give a late 1st for a young forward. It will be a complete waste
Recognizing the destructive force that is Burnette, fully enabled by Trotz….why would we want to hinder the development of actual talent by crushing them with incompetence? Better to wait for the firing we know has to come firstI know this is voicing frustration, and many of us aren't far off...but realistically if this is where we are we may as well just press fast forward until the team gets moved or something. That's not an indictment against you, as I have noticed many of the comments lately from a growing portion of our fans are just drenched in apathy.
For a later 1st, I'd definitely give Rossi a shot. Odds of getting a decent NHL player with a later 1st is a crap shoot and we've not done great with drafting forwards. But knowing we would then pay him 6-7 million and give him over to Bruno to shuffle around the lineup fills me with sadnessI know this is voicing frustration, and many of us aren't far off...but realistically if this is where we are we may as well just press fast forward until the team gets moved or something.
