Speculation: Armchair GM Thread 2025-26 Part Deux; Post-Raz Edition

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

Trade Discussion

Now what?

Am I in the wrong for wanting to go down to the Dome with a case of rotten eggs and tomatoes and start chucking?

Homie, at your age throwing anything will just result in a hospital visit.

Im not sure CC is up to the task as a gm. We already saw what happened with Hanifin, and now we are going to see it happen all again? IF Andersson goes to FA, the deal is okay. If he resigns with Vegas, this deal is atrocious.

Im at loss for words. If we dont get a top 3 pick this draft, we are f***ed. This organization is cursed to be mediocre forever. f***.

HECK YEAH FLIP WHITECLOUD SEASON!!
BOSTON??? DID I HEAR BOSTON???

I've got one of those ball sticks you use to throw a ball with when playing fetch with the dog. I imagine q tomato would fit perfectly in the cup. 🤔

I was gonna cheer for Vegas to win this year's cup so as to improve the conditional 2nd rnd pick we got in the trade.
But that kind of sewers our Vegas first rnd 2026 pick.
Vegas is probably going to win the division, which means the 2026 1st won't be better than 25 and the difference in talent between 25 and 32 is marginal at best.

The difference in picks ~25 and 32 really aren’t that much, by that point in the draft every team’s list looks pretty different so you likely can get your guy anyways. Prime example, Calgary was apparently trying pretty hard to move up in last years draft to make sure they could draft Potter. It never happened, and they still got Potter.

As a Conroy glazer, my faith in him is at about 30% right now. Dealing all three of Kadri, Coleman and Whitecloud within the next 6 weeks would shoot me up to 100% faith, but at this point it's just setting myself to be disappointed. Flipping Whitecloud at the bare minimum would restore a decent amount I guess.

Value for a rental Ras was fine, just sucks its too Vegas. At this point I trade Kadri, Whitecloud and another depth defenseman. I keep Coleman around as vet presence unless he asks to move, but if anyone wants to blow socks off for a player take the deal

Run Frost, Zary, Backs, Morton as centers and see what Frost and Zary can do.

Whitecloud is a good style to pair with Weegar. I'd keep him.

Flames have too many young dmen who need ice time, especially on the right. If someone offers the Flames a 2nd or more than trade him.

Flames don't have that SAH archetype on the right side. Flip if value damn good, but no big deal to keep him to pair with Weegar and move Pachal/Hanley instead.

I think a bunch of you guys are really under estimating white cloud but agree with @Tkachuk Norris in flipping him if the value is ridiculously high due to it being a sellers market.

In our system I think you guys would warm up to him in the same way as Bahl. him and Samuelsson were guys I felt were underrated and worth buying low in prior seasons.

Weegar-Whitecloud
Bahl-Brustewicz
Kuznetsov-Parekh

Don’t mind keeping Whitecloud at all. But if someone offers a first you trade him in the blink of an eye.

Hate the idea of being like:
Hey homegrown 23 year old we’ve been developing the past half decade. You know how you’ve had a great start to your career playing with a pro like Weegar, getting 20 minutes a night; we appreciate your growth but also we just picked up an NHL no body, so enjoy the third pair’

Fire Whitecloud into the sun. Put a forward with him. Get bodies off this club, yesterday.

^theres a fine line between insulating and blocking

Can’t be body out body in. Has nothing to do with what I think of Whitecloud as a player, I quite like him. The kids have got to play you have plenty of Beans/Hanleys/Paschals to chuck in if they need a break
