there are a lot of russians on the caps to show goldy the ropes. not sure i'd do it at the tdl, but he makes sense as a player they might try.
Again Goldobin’s boxcars are benefitting heavily from early season PP PTs. It’s unrealistic to suggest he’s a 43PT player. Based on his current usage and recent production pattern, I’d be somewhat surprised if he hits 30 THIS SEASON and I’d be almost shocked if he hits 35. On a team like the Caps where he’d never see the PP I doubt he’d hit 25 and I’m basically certain he’d never score 43.It does. Goldobin is not trash, he is 22/23 years old and on pace for 43 points in his first full NHL season. He is incredibly skilled and I will personally be pissed if he is given away. If you feel the same way about Andre Burakovsky then it may make some sense.
Hagelin is very old, not very good, costs more, produces less, and is an upcoming UFA. Did I miss something about him that’s supposed to be attractive. No Thanks. What about a guy like Carl Hagelin?
Hagelin is the type of player the Caps could use as he's fast on his skates, can win some battles a long the boards, he can PK and he has good playoff experience. What about a guy like Carl Hagelin?
Hagelin is 30. Very old is like 38+. He's only making $750k more. Kings would have to add something else.Hagelin is very old, not very good, costs more, produces less, and is an upcoming UFA. Did I miss something about him that’s supposed to be attractive. No Thanks.
Can we also use Jason Chimera? Pass. If the Caps trade Burakovsky I don’t think they should look to get older for a barely noticeable upgrade in a niche area of their game. A veteran who brings a lot in areas the Caps need, ala Antoine Vermette circa 2014? Sure. Hagelin today? No.Hagelin is the type of player the Caps could use as he's fast on his skates, can win some battles a long the boards, he can PK and he has good playoff experience.
So they add their 1st and what else? Bowey?Thoughts of the Caps trading Burakovsky to the Flyers for Simmonds and a run at a repeat?
Panik is intriguing- what would do you think Arizona want from the Stars?Richard Panik is 27 years old, was traded for Anthony Duclair last season, is a pending UFA, is putting up 22% better points per game than Burakovsky this season, and has a cap hit lower by 200K. Washington gets flexibility with an expiring deal and a player that is producing better while not being over the hill. Panik is also a sturdy player, who plays a solid straight line game. I doubt he’s in the longer term plans for the Coyotes. They might be willing to roll the dice on. Burakovsky. Seems like a hockey deal to me.
For a 30yr-Old soon-to-be UFA averaging around 50PTs a season (and probably on the decline) and likely looking for a Career Contract and who’s a marginal fit on the Caps anyway? You're not Steven Tyler but you too can Dream On.So they add their 1st and what else? Bowey?

Not sure Dallas is a great fit. I’d add a little to Panik to get Burakovsky, though. Not a ton, maybe a 4th?Panik is intriguing- what would do you think Arizona want from the Stars?
