Quick Update on my Story from Yesterday:
I Drive to the netherlands, took some time of to watch Oppenheimer (in english in an IMAX theater) the picked up the house key, Just to realise that my emergency car key is not in my room. Which means this whole Trip was basically useless, besides being able to visit a friend, and watching a movie.
And now i have two options left. Eighter the experts from the German Automotive Club can Open the Car or i have to Smash a window.

This week is getting better and better.......

Your assumption of my views is part of the problem. You call me "left wing" without ever showing the curiosity to plumb deeper into my actual beliefs. Further, the fact that you believe that my message is "tainted" because it speaks pejoratively of people you support politically, or of issues that you have a position on and mine diverges, is a perfect example of how far the discourse in this country has generally deteriorated.

You know, given your username, I can think of several things you and I probably have in common, but if there's no shared curiosity because of some stupid labels, then it's probably moot... right?
I didn't assume anything other than what I read in 7 paragraphs that pretty well defined your view. It taints the message I think you were trying to convey because its not neutral, it would be as tainted or biased looking if it were right wing leaning. I am sure we have plenty in common, that has nothing to do with anything else.

They do have more injuries requiring surgery and such.
They also have extremely skewed BMI's. Granted BMI is a pretty shit metric, I believe it came about for studying populations, not individuals. That said, MOST people who have a poor BMI are indeed out of shape, present company included. haha

The left wing lock and traditional neutral zone trap became obsolete with the abolition of the two line pass rule. On HF in particular, “the trap” tends to mean a team simply playing well defensively and is used by salty fans of the opposing team who are mad that they can’t score.
You used to ref correct? I feel like I read that many moons ago or am I making that up?

aahh man...looks like I missed some classic summer time forum 40 fun! I think Elon is playing 4D chess, he couldn't sell his cars to the right because of Tesla's reputation for being innovative and helpinng the environment. So he starts an online war with the left and now the right can get on board with Tesla cause they think they'll be sticking it to the liberals. More profit!

Next update to my car situation:
It took the guy from the german automobile club exactly 1 minute and 14 seconds to lockpick my car.
And i did not get charged because my dad is a member.

This whole ordeal frustrated the f out of me. And in addition to that my emergency car key was in the glove box.

Agree. I call it the couch potato index.

25 years ago, my Ford Explorer had a keypad for entry. Great tech for the time.

If anyone wants these I'll put them in a tube and mail them. DM me your address. Great addition to your man/woman cave.

Reuters seems like a REAL journalism outlet. This investigative piece trashes the Tesla range charade. I'm curious if any Tesla owners on this forum would comment on their real-world driving range.

I'm not a Tesla driver but have an ev. In summer around town I get way more range than estimated. Add in highway speed and heat/ac and I get roughly 30% less than estimated. I use roughly 11 kw/60 miles in summer and nearly 20 kw/60 miles in winter.

Reuters' reputation isn't quite as sterling as it used to be but they're still one of the more trusted and objective global media sources out there. The industry standard is still the Associated Press but Reuters has a larger share of the overseas markets.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good, fact remains Reuters (and AP) are among the few reliable news sources still around.

AP is my go to, nothing compares IMO

I'm biased for them, for sure, because I have friends who report for them and a while back they let me look over their internal policies and requirements on sourcing. Nobody in the media is perfect but after seeing how stringent and exacting AP is about information and what they can report, they're the first source I go to when I want the real goods, and sometimes they're the only ones I can comfortably believe when a story gets contentious.

Its less than Tesla or the EPA estimate by a lot, at least through friends of mine, I don't own one. The EPA estimate for gas cars is high as well, but there seems like a much larger gap with Tesla or maybe the long stops to recharge make the range and mileage seem worse. With a gas car, you can add fuel in 2 minutes any time any where, so range is less impactful.

In reality most ev owners charge at home so they rarely need the few minutes. And the better ev's now have charge rates that replenish from 10% to 80% in under 20 minutes so an occasional long distance drive isn't that big of a deal either. Now if you are someone who regularly drives longer distances and can't charge at home I might suggest ev's just aren't for you yet.

I'm not an expert on EVs but I'm curious about why they don't have some sort of solar array on the cars somewhere to trickle-charge the batteries on the go.
