Since we are in the post-FA doldrums with not much to talk about, I decided this would be the appropriate time to do a post of this nature. I love music and the curation of it, so I want to know what everybody thinks of current arena jams. Not only that, but songs like these can be hard to find if you don't know the name, so this can be a compendium or collated anthology of sorts. If you could curate an NHL playlist for one night, what would you choose. Of course, you can also comment on our current selections at the Job. Here is my list (song first, artist second).
General
Sandstorm - Darude
Sirius - The Alan Parsons Project
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
Jump Around - House of Pain
Banana Boat Song (a.k.a. Day-O) - Harry Belafonte
Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
Levels - Avicii
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns and Roses
Kashmir - Led Zepplin
Immigrant Song - Led Zepplin
Baba O'Riley - The Who
Ali in the Jungle - The Hours
Lose Yourself - Eminem
I'm Shipping up to Boston - Dropkick Murphys
Remember The Name - Fort Minor
Thunderstruck - ACDC
Uprising - Muse
Rock and Roll, Part 2 - Gary Glitter
Situational
Lightning Bolt - Jake Bugg (when we are about have the opening draw against the Bolts)
Hang em' High - Booker T and The MGs (after being scored on)
Right Back To Where We Started From - Maxine Nightingale (after tying a game up 1 to 1)
Ready, Steady, Go - Paul Oakenfold (right before puck drop)
Dream On - Aerosmith (if the opposition scores to make it a two-goal game)
So Long It's Been Good To Know You - Woody Guthrie (after opposing player gets a game misconduct or match penalty)
Good Old Hockey Game - Stompin Tom Connors (lighthearted intermission song)
Sweet Caroline - (another intermission favorite)
Crowd Chant - Joe Satriani (after a goal; our previous goal song)
Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon (after a win)
Why Can't We Be Friends - War (after a scrum)
I've Got The Power - Snap (when we go on the pp)
Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes (when we go on the kill)
That's all from me. My music taste outside of hockey is very different and veers to folk/acoustic guitar, but I don't mind going to the arena and hearing these songs. Now post your own lists.
P.s. Who do you think has the best Goal horn/song in the NHL, I think ours is one of the bests ( Howlin' for You - The Black Keys).
