Speculation: Are you expecting a busy trade deadline in general and/or for you team?

I think TB will do something out of left field. I think JBB will empty the cupboard entirely given that we can be a major UFA player if we chose in July.

Well it might be the return of Gourde and Bjorkstrand.... I don't hate it. The Lightning have nothing to prove to me again defensively. We can smother anyone. Scoring is the question. And we can either load up on depth or grab a big name.

Definitely expecting a quiet deadline for the Sabres. They’re interested in making hockey trades, but those are tough/pretty rare at the deadline. That’s usually more of a summer thing.

definitely possible though I'm not sure how much Tony would like going from 2nd pairing PT to being #4 in the pecking order on his side of the D.
Even as a #7, he’s still worth based on his familiarity with the system and how Rod coaches.

Lol, they're getting Gourde and Bjorkstrand as you typed this.
I couldn't believe the timing either. The only reason I even said anything is because the Lightning made a statement about their intentions. They never. EVER do that. And based on the fact they trade early (usually) to be taking any longer, it would be on the verge on screwing around

As a fan I am legit praying for big activity, but unfortunately....

I expect Anaheim to make a deal involving Dumoulin, which will clear a spot for Zelwegger AND Mintyukov to play every night. Doubtful Verbeek does more than that because the team is playing well right now (see: 6-2 win in EDM last night).

Dream scenario that won't happen: Trade Backlund and Coleman as a package. Ready made 3rd line for a team.

While at the same time going for a younger center. Hell go get another Frost.

Sabres will likely be mostly quiet

The league will likely see about 15 trades with most being random dudes for random picks due to the lack of sellers and the lack of 1sts held by playoff teams.

Oilers need to make two trades.. one for a 2RD and a G to tandem with Stu.

Something as simple as Gibson and gudas and we are good to go!

So I fully expect us to trade for an aging winger and a LD we don't need

It seems like there is way less trades this year leading up to the deadline. Not sure if that means less activity this year or teams just waiting until closer to the deadline.

Much more likely there is less activity I think

I expect it to be a quiet TDL for the Flames. Any new trades will most likely happen in the summer, whether it be at the 2025 Draft or afterwards. Craig Conroy will play the cards he has (see Dustin Wolf) in his quest for a wildcard playoff spot. If the Flames make the playoffs or just miss, they will lose their own first round 2025 draft pick to the Canadiens as it is only top 10 protected. The Flames do however own the Panthers 2025 first rnd pick and the Flyers 2025 first rnd pick.

I also expect a silent TDL for the Oilers. I think Stan Bowman shot his load with the injured Trent Frederic (fwd) trade and the suspect John Klingberg (dman) signing. The Oilers will likely go into the playoffs with their current fwd group (+ E Kane) and defence group (Nurse, Ekholm, Bouchard, Kulak, plus "to be advised") along with Skinner (.897 sv%) and Pickard (.896 sv%)in goal. Management and some Oilers fans have expressed great confidence in the Skinner-Pickard tandem.

how can you make trades when you have guys like Armstrong asking for Minten, Cowan, Danford, (2 first rounders, and a 2nd round pick) for a third line C

I expect a quiet TDL

There aren't many clear sellers so maybe not. I suppose we might see some hockey trades, as trades more about swapping some surplus that the other team needs more

For the Stars I have no clue.

We are in on every rumor which probably means we walk away with just a 3rd pairing dman

Habs will be buyer this year, propably shoping for a top 6 forward.
Habs have a shit load of picks and prospect
