The thing that sucks is we saw just how important home ice advantage was in the playoffs.

If we’re at home for game 7 we very likely win the Cup.

These early season games count just as much as the ones late in the season.

Anyways, this team is collectively way slower than we were last year and it plainly shows. We’ve also last a lot of size from last year and replaced them with smaller players.

Hard to see this team doing much with the way they’ve been playing and goaltending has been a struggle early once again.

Swap RNH with Skinner and they'll have finally landed on the correct forward lines IMO.

Don't like Stetcher coming out for Dermott but I didn't catch the Dallas game so perhaps that's a reasonable swap.

I'm going to get a chuckle if they goalie'd again, lose 3-1 with a garbage time goal.
Then have most of the post game talk about how they lead the play but need to play better defense.

Defense isn't this teams problem atm.

They're shooting blanks.

So with that being said I hope they just light them up and get out of this. "How to score for Dummies" funk they always get in.
They're so creative at generating chances but also so incompetent at finishing them.

Our next 5 are against teams that are at or below 500 so theres no reason they cant rattle off 5 anyways...
Have you learned anything the last few years?? Lol it doesn't matter at all where any team is in standings lol they can easily lose to any team without a great effort and execution.

I am assuming that if they put in the great effort and execution there is no reason they cannot win all 5 of these upcoming games.

Gaps need to be tight on Svechnikov. He's assaulted Nurse's bad gaps in the past, and he has the exact type of shot that Skinner struggles with (quick shot through the D off the rush from the top of the circles).

Special teams better show up. Players like Nuge that haven't shown up for a second this year need to get working.

Nah thin line between losing and winning in nhl. Great goaltending or lucky break by other team and you lose. That's why it was important to focus on the start of year , so a break here or there wouldn't set them too many games back. We need to get at that 500 threshold quick here until we have our game going.

Play with the same intensity of the first 40 minutes (39) in Dallas, but with more finish, and this game is ours. Easy peasy.

Hopefully a game against Carolina is once again the turning point of the Oilers season. It would also be nice if they are not losing 0-5 when the "dig in now" moment sets in for the stars and whole team.
