I've come to really like the game foligno plays. If hes forechecking hes the only player where you know hes taking the body on our team. Good hands for a big guy too. He can make some really nifty moves surprisingly.

I more meant it seems crazy that we'd trade Spurgeon for a late 1st and a prospect, not that it'd be crazy for someone to offer it. It really does depend on the prospect and Fenton's long-term plan, though.

my apologies, didnt know which way you went with it. obviously the finer details need to be worked out but i was just thinking of a minimum starting point. i wouldnt take anything less than that.

Thats solid! Your top 4 would be pretty nice with Tanev, Edler, Stecher and Brodin w/ Hughes on the way(if you created him).

Right Right,

Defense Pairings

Edler - - Ovr. 84 - Tanev - - Ovr. 84
Brodin - - Ovr. 83 - Gudbranson - - Ovr. 81
Stecher - - Ovr. 81 - Hughes - - Ovr. 79

Goalies

Markstrom - - Ovr. ( 83
Demko - -Ovr. (80

4th round pick + Gudbranson for Spurgeon.

I can’t tell if you really think this is a fair deal or if you’re just trying to test the boundaries for what you can get him for.

Either way, atrocious offer.

Spurgeon's value should be fairly established as somewhere between the Muzzin and Yandle deals.

Spurgeon @ 50% (like Yandle) would be the gold standard Leaf deadline deal, but I don't think we have the horses to get it done post Muzzin.

2019 2nd, 2020 1st, Liljegren + ???? Don't know if we have that second Moore/Duclair level piece.

Maybe the picks + Dermott (and maybe Bracco)? @AKL @Lapa @Dr Jan Itor

Bracco is also the only player in that Top 5 that is under 25. He is actually 4 years younger than the next youngest player in that Top 5 and has never played in the NHL so how do you know he wont work in the NHL?

Sort by ppg. Look at the guys who have played substantial time in the A this season.

Hintz is 4 months older than Bracco and is above ppg. Marody is 3 months older and ppg. Gurianov is 3 months younger and ppg. Luff is slightly above ppg and younger.

Mangiapane, Scherbak, Sprong, Et al last year.

I don’t feel like going back further.

We go through this every year. Soon-to-be-22 year old has great season in the AHL after being down there for a few years and he’s suddenly included in said team’s trade proposals everywhere you look.

There are a handful of these guys every year. They’re intriguing pieces but don’t hold the trade value people think they do.

Not all of them are 21 years old.

He’ll be 22 in a month. And he doesn’t have a lot of peers in that scoring group because of games played.

Ok I agree that it's not a good proposal but that's BS. Bracco is a boom or bust type but Liljegren has legit top pair potential.

Liljegren is a good prospect but if he really had “legit top pair potential” he would be untouchable. The Leafs of all teams would covet that kind of talent on an ELC for 3 years.

The Wild have plenty of talent. A lot of their guys should get interest from around the league. Be interesting to see who gets traded and where they go to.

Liljgren isnt a spare part. Just admit you've never heard of him or just havent done your homework on him.

I know what Liljegren is and I have 0 interest in him.

Speculation: - 2018-19 NHL Lines Thread (as of Feb. 14th '19 @ 9:00am)
someone better tell HFBoards that they are wrong then because they have Greenway playing 1st Line RW

but I can also list the other players brown is better than if you want

Connor Brown - 19 Points

Jordan Greenway - 17 Points
Marcus Foligno - 15 Points
Luke Kunin - 12 Points
Eric Fehr - 10 Points
Joel Eriksson-Ek - 10 Points
Victor Rask - 2 Points
Matt Hendricks - 2 Points

aka, everyone in your bottom 6 and, according to HFBoards, your 1st line RW.

Jesus ease up dude you're comparing guys only based off points? Most guys in the Leafs board on game nights are ******** up a storm on Brown. Also I think Kunin will be better down the road. Contributing a lot lately.

Also are you really going to bring up Brown vs. Matt Hendricks? Just stop.

what we're going to end up doing is trading good players for other good players. that's best case IMO. worst case is Nino for Rask level tomfoolery. I don't know how we get an impact scorer for less than a package of our good players and if we send off a package of good players we're going to be stuck with that one scorer and a lot less support around him. What's the timeline?

The problem is that our goaltending behind Dubnyk is Stalock, Hammond and Kahkonen (who they'll want to leave in the AHL for another year or two). Unless Fenton is completely abandoning the next year or two he'll need to have some sort of answer there.

Well, sell dubnyk for good value, and replace him with a free agent signing. Lots of quality backups would jump at the opportunity to get an opportunity to be a starter.

The "value" is probably fine, but I'm still not seeing the motivation for Minnesota unless Fenton really wants to tear things apart and rebuild. A late 1st in next year's draft is what, 5 years from maybe doing something in the NHL? Dermott or Liljegren woudn't be bad, but neither fills a pressing need for us.

I don't hate the idea, but I also have no idea what the UFA market for goalies looks like. It's also think it's possible that an upgrade in goal is higher on Fenton's priority list than it is for fans, so trading for one might not be out of the question.
