It's not that easy. The other team would have to be one eps willing to sign an 8 year deal with, and if he wants to join a contender than its unlikely they'll be willing to trade the assets for him (That the Leafs would want, I.e NHL quality players not pick or prospects)

The reason they are where they are in the standings is because Iliya Samsonov is mentally broken and is not capable of doing his job, the 862 save% proves that.

Iliya Samsonov has single handily cost them AT LEAST 10 points in the standings that's not even up for debate, the proof is right there 862 save% is all that needs to be said.

Now I will admit I'm not fully comfortable with Martin Jones as the #1 guy, and I never will be because It's Martin Jones but so far he's provided stability, he's doing his job.

And as long as that continues, as long as the goalies do their job the Leafs are as good as anybody in the league.
