well the second half of the season your team was a bit over .500. Leafs and Panthers are comparable, either can beat the other on any given night - but sure you guys are great almost stanley cup champs. And not arrogant or ignorant in any way
You can call it ignorance or arrogance, we call it laughing at those who’re actually ignorant and can’t shut tf up. Such as your comment, but you’ve been corrected already.

They just dont have that championship swagger. They are like the Dan Cloutier version of NHL teams, good regular season but chokes in playoffs.

This! One fan thinks it’s the “luck of having a hot goalie,” clearly not having any idea what it actually takes. Having the goalie go full stud mode OBVIOUSLY helps, but being strong on the fore and back checks are huge, blocking shots, pushing past the pain, scoring timely (some call “lucky”) goals all play a huge roal.

There’s a reason Maroon kept telling his Blues teammates that it “takes more. Etc.”
It does.

Just understand when I said “ignorant”, I meant ignorant of the Panthers team, not ignorant in general.

They're not almost champs...They got smashed in the Finals...That series was never in doubt as to who was gonna win it....They're light years away from being champs..

Panthers aren't that good.....

21-22 President's Trophy
22-23 Cup finals

Sure, they're not a dynasty, but that's still ten times better than what Toronto has been able to do.

Yeah but they got swept in their President's Trophy season and then when they had their chance at the Cup they gave up a combined 21 goals in games 1, 2, and 5...

Panthers are far from being the gold standard............They haven't won a thing when it really counted........I'd still take Toronto's roster and many others over theirs any day ......

Lmao. Got swept after winning around, unlike a few other President winners. Little context matters. And you left out the injuries we had in the Final round as well as the fact that no team has won when they’ve rested as long as the Panthers did. Who’s saying we’re a standard?

They're not a perfect team like I said, but still they've been to the finals. Toronto's roster has been to the second round.

I don't know in what world you live, but trying to be arrogant about Toronto being some awesome team is just laughable. The last time they did something was when none of us were even alive. Still their fans are arrogant. Now that's just sad.

That just sounds like a bunch of excuse making man..

After reading this thread is seems as though some people (probably Leaf haters) like to point out Toronto's lack of playoff qualities and act as though the Panthers are some intimidating juggernaut that the Leafs don't even belong on the ice with....Totally ridiculous , like i said Panthers have never won anything......Even Boston has lost their last 3 playoff series and before that they were Tamps's whipping boy in the playoffs...........Jackets did them a huge favor getting rid of Tampa for them in 2019 and they still couldn't win ..

If you would have chose the Panthers roster over the Leafs Toronto would have had a SCF appearance last year instead of being embarrassed in the second round.

Not exactly a Leaf fan..I'm from Ontario and have a soft spot for all the Canadian teams.........

Habs have actually been in my Family for generations, so i like talking about that history on their board once in a while....The people there seem pretty cool.....

Could they? Yeah. There's going to likely be better balanced teams they'll likely have to defeat though. Not everyone they face will be identical to them. I don't have the confidence in their defense or goaltending against many of the other top contenders.

But yeah, it'd be insane to just write off their chances. Lots of talented players there. It was cool seeing playoffs last year and feeling the energy from their fans when they seemingly had turned the corner.

Just use the bolded instead of the novel. It was 75% of the answer anyways forechecks and backchecks though, not the statistical outlier of a ridiculous goalie performance for a month and. A half lol

Panthers fans are the only ones who don’t see that it seems. Great run, but ultimately everyone knew it would fizzle out eventually. Same happened for Montreal in their improbable run. It happens every couple years for a team.

Is anyone doing this? (We know the annswer is no). All I’ve seen is people say not this year or they’re not balanced enough. Pretty accurate. Especially this year.

View attachment 796256

From game 42 on, Florida was 24-13-4 [.634 pts%] or 104 pt pace.

But ya call it .500

That's very good - perhaps a bit more than .500 (I did say over .500, just didn't think it was by that much). In fact it was nearly as good a record as the Leafs final 41 games.

Of course one can dismiss the Leafs 111 point season because of the second round loss in the PO
but then one would have to dismiss the 122 point season of the Panthers the year before because of the 2nd round sweep to a team that the Leafs had just taken to a 7 game cliff hanger. Ah it's all just so confusing, when does the regular season matter and when it doesn't. And when does one mock a 5 game series loss yet not consider a series sweep.

Anyway, your team is good, I would enjoy a rematch, see if we could possibly make up for that 5 game loss. That sure was disappointing for us Leaf fans. But we get disappointed a lot, yet we still stick around, so much so that our team, because of its' huge loyal fan base, is considered the most valuable of all teams. If only we could get a SC for that

Toronto hates Florida because Toronto ain't Florida.

Florida actually wins things like the President's Trophy and the Prince of Wales Trophy.

The Leafs...never a President's Trophy...not a season even close. PoW trophy...55 plus years of zero successes, all early exits, no deep runs. Proven frauds they are, both historically and presently. Florida has accomplished more in 2 seasons than Toronto has in nearly 6 decades and they loathe you because they know they're inferior and unable to meet/beat your accomplishments. Truly they're the lesser team.

Heck, in Toronto's best Cinderella season, they were dominated by Montreal after taking a 3-1 series lead. They literally stood on the doorstep of playoff advancement and allowed their soft, weak, fragile and heartless core values to lose 3 straight games to end the series. Absolute losers.

No, they won the series. The Leafs were up by three games to 1 Montreal came back and won. They went to the finals and lost to Tampa Bay hardly, as you say "soft, weak, fragile and heartless core values to lose [sic] ( they actually won 3 straight games) 3 straight games to end the series. Absolute losers".
