Unlike most teams who start hot, they are a well-built team, with depth on forward, defense, and Helley in net. We'll see how the playoffs turn out, but you can say that about any team.

Does that matter this year though really? Every season is different and anything can happen. People put way too much stock into previous seasons. The Blues were year in year out disappointments in the playoffs before they won a cup. It's completely unreasonable and illogical to say that because of last year this year will be exactly the same.
I think you are missing the point.
Until they actually prove it in the PO's the Jets will always be suspect.
Boston was a great team for a decade. Zero cups. No SC finals.
Toronto has been and still is a very good team for almost a decade. Zero cups, one PO series win.
Until the Jets do it the POs they are right now in the Boston/Toronto category of good teams that don't show up in the POs.

Top regular season team who is allergic to playoffs. Does it mean anything? Probably not, but, prefer seeing them lose then winning for now.

I don't understand the Jets and playoffs chocking thing . It was only a few years back that Fleury stood on his head and Vegas beat the Jets to go to the finals . The last couple years were not great but it's not like they have never won a round . Beat oilers a few years back also .

People seem to have short memories when it suits them .

Its just the last two years have been very ugly. They looked unbeatable going into last years playoffs and got absolutely exposed in games 2-5. But I think they have a better shot under Arniel this time.

Jets rely heavily on Hellebuyck, and Hellebuyck has been choking in the playoffs. Until he proves that he can actually get it done when it counts, it's hard to give Jets the benefit of the doubt.

The Jets' defensive depth (or lack thereof) begins to show itself in the Playoffs. Can't rely on Morrissey to do everything. Pionk/DeMelo/Miller, in the regular season are fine, but it's not the Playoffs and they tend not to hold up under the pressure.

He kind of did prove that in the 2018 and 2021 playoffs though.

Biggest questionmark for me is...they've got probably the best 3rd line in the game. One of the best 3rd lines to come along in a long time even. But their "2nd line" is kind of...suspect. That's obviously working just fine for them right now, but in a grinding head to head series, i don't know how that holds up. Makes them a bit of a weird team to assess how "for real" they are.

It's honestly our 1st line that is more suspect. 2nd and 3rd lines routinely outscore their matchups. 1st and 4th line are even,

This year it's not just all been about Hellebuyck . The goal scoring is way up and also what team does well with poor goaltending in the playoffs .

Not sure that it was Helle choking so much as the Jets' defense in general started to fall apart. This year the Jets seem to be a better balanced and more fundamentally sound team. Plus, new coach, new attitude.

I realize that it falls a little outside of your decade marker, but the Bruins won in 2011 and were in the finals in 2013.

They were, however, actually in the Stanley Cup finals in 2019. So 5 years ago.
