They will crash and burn. They're not built for the playoffs.
you won 1 round last year, cool switch you flipped. They swept us in the regular season last year.
They are the very definition of a regular season team. They dont know what finding an extra gear means. On the flip side, the Avs quite literally do not give a single shit about the regular season. They've very clearly been on cruise control in the regular season for about 4 years now. But the moment game 82 is over, the switch is flipped.
Avs would beat the Jets in 4 or 5 games again this year. Especially with Landeskog back in the lineup for game 1.
meh.I guess that's one way of looking it at it lol
Last playoffs. The Jets clearly could not handle the Avs speed or their top players, Makar especially ran the show. They were chasing the play constantly, couldn't get sustained offensive pressure and were stuck in their own end way too much.
Goaltending could have been better. However, Helle was under siege and the Avs did a fantastic job screening him on many of the shots.
Luck had nothing to do with it. Doesn't mean history will repeat itself though
Looks like we watched an entirely different series.meh.
that’s the narrative…
i watched those games… every second of them…
Jets were not good… but the Avs weren’t great either.. which was why they were an easy out for Dallas.
but let’s look at game 2.
Sog 30-32
blocks24-20
hits, Faceoffs giveaways takeaways… Pretty much a wash between the two teams. it’s much closer than the 5-2 score
the game came down to 2 1/2 minutes… two bad goals in 2 1/2 mins… 9 games out of ten Helle stops the Parise and Manson goals…
that’s 2-2 going into the third.
Georgieve gives up a softy like he normally does instead of and the Hets are up 2-0. instead he plays an uncharacteristic .933
i’d say the jets were “outplayed” about 2 of the four games they lost… even with the slow pokes.
couple bounces and it’s a muuuuch closer series.
like i saidLooks like we watched an entirely different series.
Dallas and DeBoer coached teams have given the Avs a lot of trouble in the playoffs, the man is undefeated against Colorado in the playoffs. So it's no wonder if Avs fans would rather get the Jets.
Yeah, but in the previous season, they cruise controlled themselves to the #2 seed in the western conference and then flipped the switch and lost in the first round to the #7 seed.you won 1 round last year, cool switch you flipped.
This is starting to sound similar to the Jets 'switch' lol.Yeah, but in the previous season, they cruise controlled themselves to the #2 seed in the western conference and then flipped the switch and lost in the first round to the #7 seed.
I refuse to listen to the idea of "playoff chokers" when part of their reasoning is that the Jets "choked" against the Knights in 2023.This is starting to sound similar to the Jets 'switch' lol.
also lost morrissey and scheifele in that seriesI refuse to listen to the idea of "playoff chokers" when part of their reasoning is that the Jets "choked" against the Knights in 2023.
You know, the eventual champions in Vegas, who beat the #8 seed in Winnipeg as the #1 seed.
i promise you NONE OF THE PLAYERS want to play the Jets… in any round.
Haha. This guy is back again?
Where did the Jets hurt you? Why are you so angry all the time. I’m sorry for what’s happened to you.
Living proof the hockey stats thread needs some rethinking.
As a Jets fan, I am terrified to meet you in round 1 again. As an Avs fan I hope we get them in round 1 again.
But Tampa doesn't have to deal wth 50% of the league having Winnipeg atop their NTC/NMC!He might be but Brisbois in Tampa has a couple Cups and here we are 4 yrs later from last one and still a dangerous team
Although this is all true, it should also be noted that David Thompson has stated that if the Jets were to create a genuinely top-tier team with legitimate Stanley Cup chances, he would help ensure that money would not be a roadblock on their way.kinda…..
the Ownership group is really a partnership.
Chipman is really the day to day owner. and yeah he’s rich… but not crazy rich.
Thompson is the crazy rich guy…but really he owned the land the arena was built on and helped secured the loans and stuff… but Thompson isn’t waving blank cheques around for the Jets…
Chipman is the driving force for the whole thing.
HE made the deals to get the arena, the moose, the Jets, and all the rest. He’s the guy who lives in winnipeg? he’s the guy who bought up all the small investors and runs things.
he’s the guy who sets the budget.
