Are the Jets for real or are they going to crash and burn?

You are misremembering the series. Georgiev did play pretty well, but you guys didn't get goalied. You got obliterated outside of a few periods. It wasn't even close.
This is how I remember it as well. It wasn't just that our goaltending fell apart, which, sorry fanboys it did, the entire team collapsed.

Maybe they were thinking of the Vegas Western Conference Final where the Jets carried the play and were the better team but we got goalied and Helley was hot garbage

nope You are.

also did you read my post? I never said the Jets played well. Even Hellebuck was not good...but those games were closer than the scores indicated.

I just went and read the stats. go look for yourself

Game 1 was a bit lopsided but the Avs goaltending was typically suspect Jets win 7-6
Game 2 was pretty balanced. but georgieve stoned the Jets. Avs win 5-2 with EN goal
Game 3 kinda Avs one sided.on shots .but Avs had waaay more powerplay time Jets dominated the dot. hits, blocked shots giveaways and takeaways.. again Georgieve stoned the Jets.
Game 4 pretty even with Avs having a slight advantage in shots.. but pretty close on FO/Hits etc...Avs put 2 PPg in Jets? 0-4 on the powerplay and georgieve again performed above and beyond pretty much any game since or before in his career.
Game 5 jets lead in shots, FO Powerplay Penalties, Hits, and are very close in hits TA GA... but again Gergieve stones the team.

go look at the numbers. you can argue all you want but the Jets swept the Avs reg season. and look like they are doing it this season.

look at Georgieve this year, last year, go look at his numbers. he is not who he was in that series.

again...if Georgiev lets in a couple of goals. like say he is this year..... The Avs are chasing and the Jets are probably winning. you can't tell me Georgieve is gonna give you .957 SV% reliably. NO WAY.

The Jets will not collapse, but they have to come to earth at the 100-110 point level. Things are just clicking for them, and it shouldn't surprise anyone, they have a good roster.

This is my recollection. Jets had some decent push back, but the Avs carriee the play and we're opportunitmstic when they didn't.

Georgiev was solid after game 1 but nothing special. He was probably better than Helle which was real unfortunate. But Avs picked the Jets apart.

The Jets stunk against Colorado last year. Easily the worst series we've played.

They will clearly have to prove people wrong in the playoffs this year.

All joking aside, my last visit to Winnipeg, before I went to the airport, I had fish and chips at the forks and just stared at the Red River by a fire for at least an hour. I can still go there in my mind when I miss home.

I sometimes get like this and I truly love Manitoba but goddamn is it ever cold as f*** for 4 months.

Haha, this right here. Giving up 28 goals in 5 games is not getting goalied, it's getting dominated.

For the record, I think the Jets are good this year but not top 3 in the league good.
georgive give up a lot of 957 streaks? because that was his save percentage over the last 4 games.

shots on goal were closer than you think. FO wins, hits, etc the jets were better than you remember.

and yes helle flopped.

but what’s more likely.

a team that swept the avs and scored 114 points, last year and current combined regular season record of 70- 28 were challenged by a super star nhl roster and gave up more than they wanted , WHILE a goalie went on the run of his life….

or that the Jets suck?

Not really. The Avs power play was what did the Jets in and the Jets got tons of penalties late in games 3 and 4. Wasn't an Obliteration at all.

My friend travels across North America for work installing software for car dealerships. One time he spent time in Manitoba 120 miles outside of Winnipeg. It sounded like there was nothing out there, and the only place to eat in a given area was Tim Horton's. Apparently their donuts suck, which made me sad, because when I was doing Habitat for Humanity outside of Vancouver 20 years ago, they were the best damn donuts I've ever had.

But some people like that rural nature landscape. I prefer civilization.

I'd be curious about where exactly your friend was in Manitoba, and when. It's a province where almost three-quarters of the population live in or around Winnipeg, so the rest of the province is pretty sparsely populated, and there isn't much there, although that's gradually changing. I live about 120 miles outside of Winnipeg, in the 2nd largest city in the province (one-twentieth the size of Winnipeg, so it's pretty small), but it's grown about 35% in the past decade, and with two post-secondary educational institutions and the third-largest hospital in the province, it's surprisingly multi-cultural for a city of 50,000 people. There are ethnic restaurants and marketplaces now that just weren't there 20 years ago, and it's easy to find great places to eat.

As for Tim Horton's, their food has been garbage for a long time now, and that's whether you're in Toronto, Vancouver, or Upper Moosebreath, Saskatchewan. Mediocre at best, all of them.
