Are the 2025 Montreal Canadiens the new 2019 St-Louis Blues?

I'd much rather have TOR face them than OTT in round one.

But they won't move up into the WC1 spot and will get demolished by the Caps in round one. At least they'll gain playoff experience. Things do seem to be looking up.
A Leafs fan talking about playoff experience is wild 😂. Suzuki, Caufield, Gallagher, Anderson, and Armia all have finals experience from the Habs run in ‘21. Remember how they whipped your Leafs out of the playoffs in round 1 that year, or did you black that out from your memory?

😂

I think he also blacked out the last time the leafs got their preferred opponent in the playoffs. Bring on Florida!

Lots of Hab fans out there so they are not one big monolith, but many of them are parade planning. They are way more guilty of it than Leaf fans

Which part do you disagree with exactly? That they won't catch OTT or that they'll get wrecked by WSH? You wrote yourself that they'll "lose in three."

My post wasn't even insulting to the team lmao. Guys like Slaf and Hutson will get playoff experience. How's that a bad outcome?

The Atlantic is very weak this season...especially at the top. Plenty of opportunities for bottom dweller playoff teams to push through and make at least a partial run at the SC.

Atlantic doesn’t have that runaway team at the top like they have in recent years but it’s far from weak at the top. The central division is the standout, the rest are more or less comparable at the top end with the only real outlier team being Washington.

People make way too much out of a small portion of the fanbase chanting we want Florida. It was more of an FU to Boston than anything actually to do with Florida.

I never said whether I disagreed or not. I said it was hilarious that a Leafs fan was chirping another team about playoff experience, which it unequivocally is lmao.

It’s also hilarious to see a Leafs fan say they’d rather face this team or that team. You should be worried about any possible opponent 😂. Enjoy your team’s annual Spring Choke Job™️. Lmao

A team with 37 wins in 76 games with a -22 GD shouldn't really be in playoff contention in a normal year. St. Louis was a 99 point team with a healthy positive GD. Not close to comparable.

Ever season all we hear from Leaf fans is This is our yr . Rinse and repeat.
No use for any other team to plan any parade because of the Leafs.

Check the record since Dec 1
Habs are a playoff team

Just like the 2019 Blues, the 2025 Canadiens were a bottom team around Christmas time. They put a tremendous effort and barring a major collapse (won't happen IMO, other Eastern teams are too far behind), they'll make the playoffs.

So, do you see Montreal as a darkhorse for the 2025 Stanley Cup?
lol maybe check your stats first, habs were 10th in the league at Christmas, not at or near the bottom.
So they’ve actually gotten worse since Christmas.
