Are team's going to try to copy Florida's style?

Did you read the post? They have STARS in the RIGHT PLACES which is why i compared them to New England.
But the Patriots had the best player ever. Imo Tom Brady is in a class of his own. Snd the Panthers have elite players too. Just like all the top clubs have.

You're having trouble understanding the post. Try to take a breather and read it again very carefully. I said they are different sports but the teams are similar in a few ways. Florida got very good players from the waiver wire and they made good trades for underrated players. They have a role for every player and those guys play their roles perfectly.

Can we trade you Michael Rasmussen for a year so he buys in, and get him back like a physical checking monster next year?
Same when we had Veleno...Another guy with marginal NHL skills that would've benefitted had the Wings dusted off the VHS and played tapes of the 'Grind Line' to give them an idea on how they should've played.

Yes it’s only a coincidence Hagel, Stolarz and Blake were all targeted in the noggin in back-to-back-to-back series. Just a whole lot of unfortunate accidents that somehow never befall other clubs.
Stolarz was not targeted, for one. That’s the biggest line of bullshit that keeps being parroted. Bennett took the puck to the net and Stolie poked it away, they collided as Bennett turned away to go chase puck. That Bennett ran Stolie is the biggest crock of shit floating around out there right now.
Hagel hit was bad, but was in return for a shitty hit on Barkov, it just didn’t come out of the blue. Blake was “targeted”? Give me a break.
Everything is dirty and premeditated in your biased eyes.

Who do you consider an allstar on Florida? Their entire roster goes to a different level in the playoffs so maybe that's what you mean? Barkov, Bobrovsky not much of an allstar but he's getting it done, Reinhart, Tkachuk. They are an excellent well balanced team top to bottom, it's not an insult saying what i said

I don't see it as an insult, rather people might be attributing a lot to style without overlooking the talent level. For example, Seth Jones is a 4x all-star, Ekblad a 2x all-star, Bob has multiple Vezinas, Tkachuk, Marchand, Reinheart, Barkov, all all-stars.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of another team that has this many all-stars who are still at or near their prime.

GM's always try to pattern their teams off of what is winning. I remember teams going hard for defensemen and grindy depth forwards with offensive upside after Anaheim won on the backs of Pronger, Nidermayer, Perry and Getzlaf, and after LA won the cup with Doughty and Kopitar led them to the cup.

The only time teams don't change their direction like that, is if its a superstar filled team. Nobody tried to copy Pittsburgh, for example, as nobody else had a Sid or Malkin.

I’d say GMs around the league should consider adding grit and bite to their lineups. I’m hoping Julien Brisbois does.

To me, Tom Brady is the goat based on his overall career achievements, not solely his on field ability. I’d say Aaron Rodgers is more talented and perhaps better at his peak, but he was never given a defense close to what Brady was given.

It was a team effort like the Panthers are displaying with Brady being like a much better Barkov in this scenario.

Percentage of seasons with a top 10 defense:

Brady 15/21(71.4%),

Peyton 4/17(23.5%),

Mahomes: 2/7(28.5%)

Rodgers 2/14(14.3%),

Brees 2/19(10.5%)

Gotta find the right coach too.

So Bennett just so happened to punch the air where Stolarz was? He meant to punch someone else maybe? Makes total sense.

Hagel hit was bad, but was in return for a shitty hit on Barkov, it just didn’t come out of the blue.

Oh that totally excuses it, my bad!

Blake was “targeted”? Give me a break.

Again, Ekblad just so happened to be windmilling in Blake’s direction? So many strange accidents. Maybe it was the PEDs.

It’s either that or the Panthers players have zero control over their limbs to a wild degree that points at some sort of neurological disorder. Which is more likely?

And I disagree with your comparison. It’s okay to disagree. Imo the Panthers have serval elite players who play well in big boy games. The Patriots had the best player ever on their club.

The Panthers system and style isn't exactly rocket-science. They have an aggressive forecheck and their dmen pinch to high heaven. That leaves them open to rush chances the other way, but they also have a goalie that's quite good at handling rush chances, particularly 1v1 breakaways.

Any team hoping to copy-cat the Panthers system would need the personnel to fit it.

Teams are better off tailoring the system to the core players and then picking up complimentary players that fit that style, rather than trying to copy the last guys to win. That's how organizations like the 2010s Canucks or Flyers throw their entire team into disarray.

The Panthers system is not inherently better than Tampa's, which was not inherently better than Pittsburgh's, which was not inherently better than Chicago's or LA's, which were not inherently better than Detroits. The strength of all the best teams are synergy between coaching system and talent.

True, the Svech elbow on Bob was 5 times as bad as what Bennett did.

lol, no it wasn't.

Both collisions were the result of guys driving to the net and the goalies making aggressive plays. Hockey is fast, shit happens. Neither hit was particularly malicious. Goalies are the first guys on the ice to throw a tantrum at the ref if they feel like they were interfered with, neither goalie had anything negative to say about either play. Both pretty much said 'he's doing his job, I did mine, shit happens'

Bennett comes with baggage cause he's concussed other players before. I don't think the Stolarz collision was bad in a vacuum, but as part of a pattern, yeah, it's understandable people aren't going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm of the opinion that if the NHL actually wants head shots out of the game completely, they're going to have to over-penalize in a black and white manner.

Florida had to be bad for years to get to this point to be able to draft or trade for some of their key players. As well as a little luck with teams throwing away Bennet, Reinhart and Forsling

All great teams were bad for years first, aside from Vegas, who benefitted from a rigged expansion.

And for the record, I was in favor of rigging the expansion in Vegas' favor, because it was always crazy to me that new teams would enter a league just to be shit on when they should be doing their damnedest to build fans.

So you're complaining about the expansion Sharks roster with Kelly Kisio being one of their top players???

All the expansion teams over the years that were systemically forced to be bad for the sake of existing owners egos and pocketbooks, yes.

Even if Bennett has baggage, his was in a gray area. Shechnikov's was clearly intentional. He also has a rep of being sneaky dirty, he's just not known league-wide for it yet.
