It’s still a tall hill to climb, gotta win those two games and Montreal still has a game to clinch vs CarolinaIf montreal blows it tonight, then its wide open for Clb who has 2 very winnable games against Phily and NYI

Nope. If the Habs can't take care of business themselves, why should they be in the playoffs? That’s a bit extreme now, isn’t it?
Because they can also win against Carolina and the fact that they already accumulated enough point that if Columbus lose a game they’re eliminated suggest that they took care of business already.Nope. If the Habs can't take care of business themselves, why should they be in the playoffs?
If CBJ makes it, it means they took care of business and it will be fully deserved.
If the Habs would have taken care of business already, why are we talking about the possibility of CBJ making the playoffs...?Because they can also win against Carolina and the fact that they already accumulated enough point that if Columbus lose a game they’re eliminated suggest that they took care of business already.
That’s because you don’t have any self control at the buffetI mean I can see us laying down. It's very much a thing we do.
Because Montreal's still ahead and Columbus edging them out is still just a remote possibility. Habs won six straight games before losing to Ottawa and an OTL against Toronto. They've been playing great hockey, but weren't going to win every game.If the Habs would have taken care of business already, why are we talking about the possibility of CBJ making the playoffs...?

CBJ can only make the PO by either finishing with more points than MON or being tied with them, but ahead on RW. They are 3 back of MON and 1 behind in RW. If they win both in Reg that points them 1 point up and 1 ahead on RW. If Mon only gets 1 more point or 0 in their final 2 games, then CBJ would make the PO because of the RW tie breaker. If they have the same RW, then MON gets in on the next tie breaker of ROW.I’m guessing none because it just seems very unlikely that the necessary chokes will happen. There are some pretty bad opponents in between MTL/STL/MIN and the playoffs.
Period. If we cant beat Chicago at home to clinch playoffs we dont deserve playoffs
The Ducks getting that OT victory against Calgary last week, coming back from 3-1 will be the reason the Flames miss out. With a RW in that game, Calgary could have won the tiebreaker with the Blues by winning their game in hand in regulation. There isn't a chance in hell the Ducks are beating Minnesota. Half the roster is already mentally in Cancun.
Flames will also probably lose one of the two games left. Can't see Vegas and LA laying down.
The Wild have been fully decimated by injuries , probably worse than any other team in the league. They were also pretending when they were floating around the topThe Ducks getting that OT victory against Calgary last week, coming back from 3-1 will be the reason the Flames miss out. Now they are hoping for spoilers.
Minnesota almost blew a lead 3 goal lead to San Jose, spotted 2 to Vancouver. I really think anything is possible. Wild fans can't be happy with the way the team has drifted from tops in the NHL to the playoff cut line with one game left.
Same goes with St. Louis. Should win at home but it's hockey, on any given day...
Columbus I don't get them. Quite the choke job they pulled when they were comfortably in the playoff picture, with the Devils in sight.
SO loss for Mon keeps cbj alive. Jackets need to win out in regulation and need a Mon reg loss in their finale to get in.None of them will make it.
Habs will clinch a playoff spot tonight.
Flames will lose their remaining games.
What he said - Habs don’t deserve to make it. They’ve blown 3 chances to clinch and are playing terrible hockey. If we cant beat Chicago at home to clinch playoffs we dont deserve playoffs
I already voted none to both but I don’t mind CBJ making it either way. Credit to them if they make it over Montreal.SO loss for Mon keeps cbj alive. Jackets need to win out in regulation and need a Mon reg loss in their finale to get in.
Cbj still needs help. But if tied late in regulation in the finale, they have to pull their goalie. They can’t tie Mon in points and RW. Lose on row tie breaker.I already voted none to both but I don’t mind CBJ making it either way. Credit to them if they make it over Montreal.
It’s a dramatic end to the season!
I posted this on the Flames board... it's all teh scenarios.Wild need to get to extra time. They do that and they are in.
Blues, win vs Utah in regulation and Cal is done. Win in extra time, then Cal has a chance to pass them.
SO loss for Mon keeps cbj alive. Jackets need to win out in regulation and need a Mon reg loss in their finale to get in.
Tues Result | Flames need to do this to pass them... |
---|---|
Regulation win | Nothing, can't be done |
OT or SO win | win out in regulation as it would give the Flames the tie breaker |
OT or SO loss | win out, any wins will do |
Regulation loss | get 3 points in final 2 games |
Tues Result | Flames need to do this to pass them... |
---|---|
Wild win in regulation or go to OT | Nothing, can't be done |
Wild regulation loss | win out, any wins will do |
Nothing funnier than the grunting, straining prose about what a team 'deserves'. Keep trying. What he said - Habs don’t deserve to make it. They’ve blown 3 chances to clinch and are playing terrible hockey.
Columbus would be a way cooler matchup at story. Plus the rivalry with Washington. Montreal would be kind of boring, they’d probably get wiped clean by Washington.
