Are Calgary and/or Columbus going to make the playoffs?

If my mental health did not depend on the Habs, I would root for Colombus.

I have to think they are the hungriest team in the league. That Gaudreau jersey in their locker room is looking at them like Jobu. They have destiny on their side.
To be honest, it's one of the reason why I won't really be mad if columbus makes it even if it means my favorite team chokes.

Different kind of meaningless. Chicago was a team full of promising young players looking to prove themselves. Carolina has some more important hockey to play next week so they can and should take it easy.
They will have minor league players trying to get the coach to notice them versus the regulars that would play not to get injured

If I'm not mistaken, that's it for Calgary. With Minny getting a point, and St Louis about to win in regulation, even if Calgary comes back against Vegas they're done.

Now that Minnesota has won in overtime and the Blues won in regulation, from my understanding Calgary is officially eliminated from being able to get into the playoffs. Good season from the Flames and better than what many expected, Wolf is a stud.

That is correct. The NHL's website has also updated the standings to reflect this - Flames are eliminated.

Montreal can clinch tomorrow by earning at least a single point against Carolina. If they lose in regulation, they can still get in if Columbus fails to beat the New York Islanders in regulation on Thursday.

Edit: and whoever gets in between Montreal or Columbus will face the Washington Capitals in the first round. The other seven matchups are set.

Carolina will throw the game against Mtl. They will rest everyone. It’s a meaningless game

Does this look like the face of a man who lets things go?

They are going to do everything in their power to take Montreal out, and then in the post game conference, Tom Dundon is going to rant about how Kent Hughes shares a bank account with his mother.

if habs lose then they flat out don't deserve to make it

you can't get 1/4 points from chicago and canes, who have been playing some diabolically bad hockey and will probably be checked out for this one

Isn't there some bad blood between Habs & Canes.... something to do with offer sheets or something.

Imagine if Columbus had turned to Greaves early, what a streak that kid is on. In april he is 4 - 0 .75 GAA .976 SV% with 2 Shutouts lol

I posted earlier that I thought there was no chance for Columbus, but would be happy to be wrong. I really hope they make it happen.

MTL isn't going to have an easy game against Carolina. Even if Carolina has 'nothing to play for' they will still want to end the season on a high note and be on a roll going into round 1.

Super exciting as an outside fan to see some teams' entire seasons are coming down to the last game!
