Are all laptops garbage ?

Literally every laptop I have purchased since 2007 has lasted me 4 years. Poof , there goes my $1000 Acer Nitro 5 from 2021. It is bricked. It does not want to charge. The charger has been cutting out randomly for about a month. I usually just unplug it and plug it back in.

For the last week or so, I've had to plug it in and out 6 times. If I do it 6 times in a row , the orange charge light will usually come on the 7th time. Sometimes it will fully charge. Other times I just keep f***ing with it. But now , it finally left me stranded.

How long does your laptops usually last ?

I am stuck at a camp in northern Alberta. So I grabbed this ice tray thing out of the freezer and put it under my laptop for 10 min. Then I plugged it in and the orange charge light is on and its working again. Hmmm

I'll be here at least until they evacuate us because of the forest fires

just buy a macbook. it's worth the money. especially with the arm chips.

Get a gaming laptop they last a while

I usually recommend buying the business models because of their longevity. At work, I deployed Dell Latitudes and they all lasted close to a decade. If you want more flare, buy a gaming laptop, or a MacBook.

I'm typing this post on a 10 year old MacBook. Still works great.

Yeah I have a Mac Airbook that’s got to be 7-8 years old at this point and it also works great.
