He will be. It’s just a question of whether it will be NJ or another team but nobody will get him at any discount. That raises some issues about whether the team wants to pay him but that’s a question they have to answer. If they expect to have him sign for seven years at $6.5 mil or whatever they had offered all I’d ask is that Bratt’s agent be candid with Fitz. Just tell Fitz what they want instead of passive aggressively trying to get Fitz to bid against himself.

Fitz was an old school NHL player and probably doesn’t see enough “B” game from Bratt to accept him for the talent he is.
Do you think that Bratt and his agent didn't give a number?

I imagine it went something like this we want 7 million on 3 or 4 years.

Fitz said how about 6.5 on 7 years

Bratt's camp...No...3 years or much, much more money.

Wasn’t the reporting that Bratt’s agent didn’t respond to thr team’s offer? Hopefully they spoke before the arbitration and Fitz knows what Bratt’s camp is willing to do.

What does that mean "didn't respond"? Didn't counter with a number? Never called...

Is Fitz saying Bratt ghosted the organization all summer and just filed for arbitration?

If that is actually the state of the relationship, Bratt should have been traded already.

I'm fairly confident that Fitz was on record by saying they never heard back.

We will never know the reality but my sense was Bratt’s agent never countered the proposal and I’ll guess Fitz didn’t press him. Like I said they had to speak to agree on this one year deal. Hopefully they laid some groundwork for what comes next or agreed there won’t be a next.

That's why it seems like partial truths.

If Bratt's agent was clear up front we are not doing more than 4 years. And Fitz submits an offer for 6.5 million for 7 years...

Then Fitz is the douche for putting out in the media "gee I never heard back "

Wouldn't you say?

I’d say it’s Friday night and Mr. I Don’t Need Chemical Assistance Despite My Advancing Years should have much more fun things to do than discuss Bratt’s contract talks or lack thereof with those of us who haven’t had extended time alone as a couple for literally over 25 years.

I don't have anything better to do. I've been in bed since 9:30 trying to fall asleep. I have to get up at 4:30 tomorrow morning to drive 2 hours to archery tournament. I'm not shooting so rest isn't all that important.

That’s a far drive. Are you the coach? As for Bratt’s agent I’m disappointed if Fitz doesn’t know exactly where Bratt’s camp stands by now. I get not bidding against yourself but there are some easy ways to have that conversation without it being unprofessional

Not really coaching officially but I will be.. An old friend needs a little moral support and help getting back to basics. Sometimes archers go through mental struggles. Target panic is nasty and it can ruin a great archer. I already told him when that is the case the absolutely worst thing to do is shoot in tournament, but he wants to do it. I'll spend an hour with him in a warm up and talk him through his shot sequence. If it goes well enough he'll shoot if not he won't. He said it's my call on go or no go.

Using raw production to say Bratt didn't belong as a core piece is dumb. He had a higher scoring rate than Nico every year outside their rookie years. Bratt's draft position both directly and indirectly caused him to be underrated for years. I think Fitz also (stupidly) not believing Bratt was a part of the core prior to this year is why I don't believe he actually offered Bratt the type of long term deal he actually deserved because he doesn't fully buy that Bratt is this type of player and needs to see it again
I wonder how Bratt really feels about Fitz right now.

I do recall someone saying he posted an IG thing and he looked happy or whatever.

But is it happiness or relief that he signed SOMETHING to remain in jersey?

I think it may be in Bratt's best interests to find a new representative for him as Joakim seems to be a bit over his head here.

Fitz was an old school NHL player and probably doesn’t see enough “B” game from Bratt to accept him for the talent he is.
Well I see enough "B" game from Fitz here.

"B" as in Bullshit.

I think Joakim is a bumbling fool who is messing everything up for his client here.

Especially IF he didn't counter Fitz's offer OR didn't even reply back.

As I said earlier, Jesper really needs new representation for the next round of negotiations.

Preferably someone STATE-SIDE who is more in-tune with the intricacies of the NHL and NHL dealings.

Joakim clearly is a friggin' amateur here.

That’s the thing people aren’t factoring in…it’s not like this agent is Pat Brisson or even Allan Walsh (ie someone who clearly knows what they’re dealing with), we have Bratt’s fate largely riding with an inexperienced agent and a still relatively inexperienced GM. I hope the agent isn’t just another Gilles Lupien because I don’t think Bratt would make the course correction Marty did

Fitz offered good deal. Because this is what he is doing time after time.
Bratt is unicorn and we love him as a player, but don’t foolish yourself. He was pain in the vss before, he is now. It’s ok, he absolutely can do it, it’s his right. But don’t paint him as a victim. Because he is not. it’s a business for both sides. And for Fitz side is much better decision to sign him long term as long as he can as faster as he can. For Bratt side... He was trying to gamble on himself before. He literally want to have more money and more years. As many more as he can. So… may be it’s an agent fault, I want to believe it is, anyway it is on the Bratt camp side. It’s clear, it’s simple, it’s obvious and logical.

And such stupid things like”He DoNt CaLl HiM pArT oF tHe CoRe!” Is nowhere an argument. So what, possible Sharangovich will score 35 goals or Zetterlund will score 25 or even Boqvist will produce 50+ points, they should cry and take offense because they were not named as core players before? It's time to grow up, stop building amazing theories and look at things from a practical and logical points of view.

A Good Deal of 6.5 for 7 years is not a Good Deal.

It may be a good deal for Fitz but not for Bratt and even I don't think it's a good deal.

I've said it many times that 7 million or over is what Bratt would possibly accept.

Going under 7 is basically telling him it didn't matter what he did last season, he's still less important than Nico and Jack, which has to piss him off all things considered.

All that said, again...we don't know what the EXACT numbers that Fitz offered were, though.

Maybe he did offer 7.5 or something but Bratt's agent, like the inexperienced jackass he is, was like "nah. Give us 9" or some absurd number.

We just don't know.

And I will "foolish" myself because Bratt is a way better player than Fitz or some of you give him credit for.

At this point, after this many years… I’m going to start blaming the fish for essentially asking for the bait to be thrown in the water. It’s not even good bait most of the time and you guys just bite on right through the hook.

You don’t have any evidence. The only thing we know is how Bratt acted before and how Fitz acted before.

some of you who? I m ok to give him 8*8. When you are using such words you should be more careful, please. The only real credit Fitz should give is a money. He offer him Ltd. he did it before. This is a good credit.

Did you even READ THE *ENTIRE* POST?

I said there : "All that said, again...we don't know what the EXACT numbers that Fitz offered were, though."

What the hell, Guadana? :skeptic:

I. was. speculating.

I thought that was established.

Hell I've been speculating like you have and others have had for months.

How you believe I'm treating 6.5 as if it's fact is absurd.

That was rithorical question. The whole theory is based on one assumption. It's better not to go to court with this.

Lets just wait for great another one season for Bratt and long term deal. He is working hard this summer and he has good space to produce more with new PP coach. Even if his 5 on 5 production will drop a little bit(I don`t think so, I beliebe next season he will play regulary with good partners), I think he will repeat or even make it better next year. If he will play another 1 ppg season, I`m not against to give him 8-8.5 per year and I hope he will be not stupid enough to sign 1-2 years deal, lose some money and find himself on the market, where he has not a big chance to find something meaningful more. Changing agent would be great. I don`t care that guy may be have wife and kids, he is betting on his clients.

Didn't go well. Drove all the way to Pottstown PA to watch 2 shots. First shot I see his bow arm shrugs inward...we call it a collapse. Second shot not as bad but similar.... STOP.

Couple of rotary cuff range of motion test. Immediately notice he can't fully stabilize his bow shoulder...go see a Doc dude, you're on the shelf...I'm going home.

Should have had him just send me a video and I could have saved 3/4 of tank of gas.
