All valid points.

I just don’t know how he's going to improve when he's the coaches yo-yo. Or playing with his equals...that are equally lacking.

The 4th goal in the last game is playing in my mind. He made a huge error...but his partner was also in error because of his positioning. And so were the forwards who failed to come back.

A comedy of errors...but only one paid the price.
True... it fair to say that during the last game, their is blame for all players, yet only him get out of the lineup. I dont think he's being single out, I think this decision come down to who else can play. With Guhle and Barron being ready, he's an easy scratch. I dont think you can say the same with Armia and Dvorak... they are both useless 5 on 5, but they can help on the PK and (i hate to say this) if you want to trade them... you have to play them.

The one think I hope MSL/Robidas did is to sit down with Arber and explain the plan they have to bring back on top. I would also hope that KH call the NHL to discuss the double standard officiating arounf Arber.

Yeah, too many rookies at the same time and no "mentor" to help him into the role he may be good. I mean, Savard is the closes to a shut down D, but he's not a mean and physically punishing D. I'm a broken record with this, but man would have Pesce be a good fit right now.
Chiarot was a nobody that Jets were not going to bother to sign. Yet when paired with Weber, they were terrors on ice. The two most punishing defenseman in the NHL and a big reason we reached the finals.

Arguably X is bigger and meaner...

Who does X have? Barron?

Arbor will be traded and then watch we will see that was a mistake
It is not an impossible that he get traded, but I would hope that if they dont think he can do a top 6 D, they give him a try as a W.

Also...it's also a mistake only if you dont get a good return.

Chiarot was older and more experienced, but you are right that X does not have an ideal partner. Last year, he played ok with Savard, but so far this duo hasn't been great.

But this can be said for most D: Hutson still looking for a stable D partner, Guhle does not even know if he's a RD or LW. Matheson does not have a real RD fit to play 1st pair. The only duo that make sense is Struble/Barron... but two rookies again.

MTL has lots of interesting D, just not a mix of player that seems to complement each other right now.

Several former Habs players claim that the MSL system is bad and the proof is that after 3 years, the majority of players have not integrated it. Many also point out that the Laval Rockets' playing system is different and much better. But MSL persists in imposing a stupid system when evidence abounds that it doesn't work. Is MSL an NHL caliber coach? That is the question.

Ok, former player like Benoit Brunet or Monahan? Opinions of players that where never coached by MSL are as valid as any Joe on the street of MTL.

If you are speaking of player that where coached by MSL... pls send a link to that effect. I dont recall seeing that.

I don't like what MSL is doing but Basu was on TSN 690 today saying Arber is considered a strong member of the team when they come out of the rebuild and he's tough on him because the expectations are higher.
If true, I still don't like how he's being handled

What happens to this player? He has struggled no doubt but in all seriousness, how does the Xhekaj story end?

To me it feel like he has been overcoached or tamed..

I'm afraid we will see him flourish elsewhere. I feel like some NHL teams would put their hands on him and he would be alright.. hope i'm wrong but damn it is not looking good.

The guy skates really well for his size .. he got one heck of a cannon of a shot. Tough as nail. IDK anymore!

Yeah this is a side event that concerns me more than the actual train wreck this team has become. Tonight I expect a physical beat down from Washing ton. I just see a team with weak leadership that doesn't seem to hate to lose.

Poor X he's on track to be the next Chara with any other organization. He'd never be benched anywhere else, they'd have him at Norris levels by now, damn Marty is so stupid.
Comedy Club is waiting for you !!!!

I've read every post in this thread. This place is already a comedy club, the takes are honestly hilarious. There is nothing wrong with healthy scratching a defenceman playing that poorly, period. That definitely does not make MSL or the management idiots.

Xhekaj is obviously not ever going to be anything approaching Chara and I will poke fun at that take because people here actually believe that. If nobody pushes back against the narratives this board invents it somehow manifests into people's false expectations, it's crazy.

Many years ago when the Habs had Brisebois, Odelein, Schneider, Haller, Desjardins, Daigneault, the future looked really bright after a Cup win but then they dropped off and I remember reading a Hockey News article and the writer said...their young Dmen just stopped developing. This reminds me of that era.
