We have a 6'4 hulking D with feet of gold and a huge shot and we want ot make him a 4th liner.

Esti never change HFboard. Never change. It's crazy how low the overall hockey knowledge is among even folks who are here every day. Makes you wonder if democracy is an utopia. (It is)
That's just fans seeing Xhekaj being crap in his own zone and watching all the LHDs prospects bypassing him in not so long and they don't want to "lose him".

That's just fans not watching the games, you mean. Struble was trash last game. Mailloux scored a goal but was probably the worse defenseman in the league overall last game. Xhekaj is crap because hes shy, because he's scared of making mistakes. I'm saying trade him away before he has no value because thats exactly how you run a special talent into the ground.

Go listen to Martin Leclerc this morning on BPMsports, he’s right on.
BINGO!!!!! Give the man a prize.Marty has this team so confused it's FU#&ing GLARING !!!!! Love Leclerc's take when he used the Ottawa game as an example, play dirty and we'll go after your top line players, then POOF !! All of a sudden were having teams use us as a doormat, this has Marty's signature all over it .

Yup. Xhekaj's been bad but his replacements have not been better.

They need a guy like him to impose respect.

I was at the game. After the Barron hit, people in the stands behind the pressbox started chanting Xhekaj's name. Slafkovsky (who was laughing his ass off hearing it), Laine and RHP turned around and knew exactly what the fans meant and understood very well. Arber himself was pretending not to hear it, I'm guessing out of frustration. It was a clear indication (to me) that the players want this guy to play. They would rather live with the bad but have that fear factor on the ice.

At this point, the team is not winning anything so it doesn't matter that he sucks as a hockey player. Unless they get someone else to bring that element in the lineup, they need someone like Xhekaj to protect the team.

I don't see why this team doesn't use 7 D since a guy like Pezzetta barely plays. You could even put Xhekaj on LW for a shift or two. Back in the day the Habs had a player named Jim Roberts who played both forward and D and was solid at either responsibility. It's time to start making smarter personnel decisions.

Yeah, he's looked lost this year. Too bad, he looked so promising his rookie year. Habs might be in trouble on defense this year. They'll probably play Arber again soon.
When no one expects anything from you and as a bonus, you get into some scraps where you come out the decisive winner.

It's easy to "look" promising...but that fades off and your actual ability to play your position (which he CAN btw) is what actually matters and needs to come to the surface.
