Yea, I dont know man. I don't need a 6' 4 mammoth to run after a 5'9 rookie because our own 240 lbs rookie got breathed on.

If it was actually dirty? Kill the guy for all I care.
The hit wasn’t dirty. Neither what Xhekaj did to Rossi. He didn’t punch him or crosschecks him. He only senf a clear message. Nothing wrong with that. If he would have punched his face in or crosschecked him illegaly, i would have another speech.

The Rossi hit was fine, but not needed. The game was done. Slaf was at the end of a long shift and wasn't threatening any offensive advance. It wasn't a hockey play, per se. As far as I'm concerned it's a young player, and a smaller player, trying to show his coach and teammates and home fans that he's not afraid to throw his weight around against larger players. Good on him. I would expect the same from any of our diminutive guys in the org trying to establish themselves

Xhekaj's reaction was proportional. You He was never going to engage Rossi in combat. That was never in the cards. He was sending a message. A warning to Rossi? Yeah, sure. But most importantly an assurance to Slaf: "I have your back"

I'm sure Xhekaj would prefer that Slaf didn't get railroaded the way he did. I'm sure he didn't want to stalk a lil guy like Rossi around the ice. But that's his job, and the way Slaf went down there really wasn't any alternative. If you take liberties with Slaf, you get a talking to.

Eh, its the same kind of shit Chara used to pull. You might like it but I dont. Xhekaj was just waiting for anyone to retaliate. Clown behavior, as I said. You can be extremely tough without falling in this kind of dumb bully behavior. Iginla, Robinson, Laraque, etc were all the toughest SOBs on the ice and didnt need to resort to this kind of play.

Completely fine with what he did.

The people posting : "Xhekaj didnt do his job" are just.. wow lmao

There are no words, just: Wow

Expecting Xhekaj to beat up Rossi would be like Mark Borowiecki beating up Caufield for hitting someone 9" taller and 50 lbs heavier than him.

We would all lose our shit if that happened, so why the hell would some people want our player to do it?

And I must ask, why are people celebrating the kind of behavior Xhekaj showed last night after the hit?

Someone goes after Caufield after an awkward hit like that and Id be ready to blow up the other players house. Just very weak minded behavior.

Whats next? Were going to bully player that shoot to hard on Allen?

LOL yes because THAT'S a way better attitude to have... okay. *thumbs up*

Are people for real with this lol like what do some people really want, for him to ACTUALLY charge this guy with a spear, plow him onto the ice, and bash his face until theres teeth stuck in Arbers knuckles.. like? That's primate shit dude..

Sure for wtv reason Arber couldnt get his mitts on him, but he didnt SHY away lol theres a f***ing ref grappling him, but he let him know not to try that shit again
It's not like he did NOTHING
But damn people really want blood spilled it's insane, if Arber had blindly maniacally assaulted this guy nobody is talking about how great Arber is anymore
They'd be saying that was a low low moment and a huge black eye on a career that's just getting started

Because it was the right thing to do.

He didn't go over and drop his gloves, Rossi had the puck and Xhekaj made extra sure he got a few shoves in.

IDC if Rossi is 6'4 or 5'4 if you put a big hit on a rookie you're going to get some attention.

If Xhekaj had dropped his gloves and started wailing on him I'd understand your complaints, but all he did was play him a little extra.

Yeah if you put a big hit on a rookie you better get some attention.

That wasnt it though, it was an awkward fall or what ever it was. Look at the vid and tell me theres something there. Its a shoulder hit with the least power ive ever seen lol.

Good point, Ax should have dropped Middleton who doesn't want to fight... Remember Bertuzzi? Assault charges, you know what that mean? No one wants to fight him cuz they scared and it's not the 80s anymore dude. Plus he could kill someone not ready with those fist. Get over yourself, you see he tried everything the next shift.

Haha, assault charges!!!

“no one wants to fight him cuz they are scared”, thanks for the laugh! One NHL fight,1, lolol.

Respond to Slafkovsky not protecting himself on a bump...

We hated the Bruins for a decade because of behavior like this, I am not going to endorse it when the Habs do it. Be a jaune all you want, not me. Love Xhekaj and what he brings, but I hope he reings in the tool behavior.

Also Evans answered right on the moment, Im 100% fine with this.

No we hated the Bruins cause they were always the aggressors. Protecting your teammates is a good thing.

I really liked what he did. He's here to play hockey, not fight. He could have went crazy and start to fight and pummel some fool and possibly get suspended. He just bullied Rossi a little bit instead, which is fair in that context.

He sent Rossi a message and I think Rossi saw his life flash before his eyes.

🤦‍♂️ 1 NHL fight lol.
His reputation in the OHL is well known. And ask the Ottawa fans what they think about Xhekaj after he stomped and ran over a host of Senator players in the preseason. I'm sure you wouldn't be frightened by him.

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
Well, in the words of a brave Navy Chaplain during the attack on Pearl Harbor: Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

It's quite obvious the kid can fight, It doesn't matter that he only has one NHL fight.
Of course the kid can fight but the hype is so over the top, it’s become quite comical. Saw a post where someone stated, Reeves would think twice and would not want to fight him, nearly spit out my coffee laughing.

Let’s save crowning him the heavyweight champ until maybe fight 3. Lol.
