Apologies if it has already been posted. He mentions the entire Habs management was there, including Martin St. Louis all weekend.

He also said this "My contacts on the Habs say Arber Xhekaj will play in the NHL and he will be a Fan Favorite".

Not to take away from Runner's genius, but it's been a pretty common expression on the internetz for years now :p
I’m just a contributor but yes, the expression has become common. On the other hand, I have coined a few in here but no one has noticed so they mustn’t have been too good.

Jackeye living rent free in Sens fans’ heads already.

I still remember the Gryba hit (referred to by the user responding to the tweet below) and how an Ottawa rag used an oversized pic of Eller bleeding, on its front page, with the title “Sens draw first blood.”

You can’t even tell some Sens fans to stay classy, they wouldn’t know where to begin.

The hit on Lodin was a late hit, but it was not vicious as it was just Xhekaj finishing his checking motion. Might have deserved a penalty.

This is awesome!

Are we mature enough as a fan-base to admit stepping over a player you've just knocked down (while wearing skates) is dangerous and a bit too far? It's not basketball, don't get the bottom of your feet near player's faces/heads.

If you noticed properly, after he gave his knock-out punch, he held on his shirt, so he wouldn't fall to hard on the ice, so he's not a dirty fighter.

Good point!

I'm getting soft in my old age, I pulled my back picking up a sock once, I just get easily concerned for fellow humans...hah!

Xhekaj may develop into one of those reliable D tuff guys that doesn’t have to go out every night and destroy someone…..rather, his reputation keeps the rats & shit disturber’s honest just knowing he’s on the other bench.

He’s a decent skater who play’s a positional sound game. I’d be delighted if he turns into a 3rd pairing D.
Cheers

3 things I'm almost certain of :

1) Xhekaj is a badass
2) He will make the NHL as a 5-6 D at worst
3) He will be our go to guy answer to the Tkachuks , Wilsons etc of the East and quickly become one of the most hated and feared guy in the conference.

And turns Marchand's lights out.

He put 3 Sens out of the game today and for tomorrow. That’s got to be a record for a guy who didn’t do anything suspension worthy.

He’s a man among boys, there’s no doubt about that, and I look forward to him playing against NHL players. I’m just disappointed it wasn’t Tkachuk on the receiving end of that beat down.
We have 4 exhibition games against the Hens. You may get your wish before the season even starts ;)

Any player who makes Sens fans cry is an instant favorite of mine. The kid can play too, those clowns calling him a talentless goon with no NHL upside whatsoever will sing a different tune soon enough. I love it!
It all percolates down to the fanbase from the Sens' leadership group.

They've added an ex-captain in Giroux but they still are who they are. :sarcasm:

Any response from Xhekaj needs to be controlled though. Guys like Tkachuk or Marchand will try and draw him into a penalty and they absolutely won't fight him. This is where he needs to be physical but restrained.
