If Marty thinks it's only about Wilson than maybe he isn't as smart as many think.
Yeah he's not very smart. What kind of stupid comment was that about Wilson's game. He is absolutely blind to how our players would get a boost of confidence knowing that someone who is dressed has their back and would go to war for them.
Napoleon dismissed the possibility of any positive benefits with his "Wilson won't change his game" comment. Who gives a shit about Wilson??? Think instead of what it would mean for
your players. Caufield, among others has said what dressing X means for them.
Most real coaches take responsibility instead of making excuses. I may be wrong but, I can't recall him ever saying that it's his job to make sure the team is ready from the drop of the puck. We had so many poor starts.
Instead, he constantly throws players under the bus, X, Slaf, Laine even Guhle ffs. He doesn't name them outright but he makes sure you know who he's talking about by mentioning a certain play or penalty.
Then you get the pundits saying how much the players love Napoleon. What are they supposed to say, that he's dumb and doesn't know anything and that they don't like him?? That will do wonders for their ice time.
He comes across as insecure and not very smart so he overcompensates with a huge ego and extreme arrogance and stubbornness.
