I like you and I don't want to piss you off lol but I have to ask, how did you know that bit of info? That's the first time I ever read that unless I missed something.

From an article by Alexandre Gascon.

Translation for the non-French speaking folk:

Gascon said that after 10 games, management was considering sending Slaf to the AHL. But it was Marty who convinced them to keep him up because he was still seeing progression and wanted to keep working with him to help him continue to progress.

Do you have access to Habs management? Don`t know why someone would duck that question. Though if someone implies they know what`s behind management decisions, it begs the question.

Keep believing the Habs called Xhekaj up because fans kept asking about him. That it has nothing to do with his play, but it was just because the fans asked Gorton to call him up.

No one cares
Can we bet on a fight? I mean it's 1000% he will fight tonight and it's easy money
I have a hunch that he will stay away from it. His mom emotionally posted on Twitter about him getting called up to the Habs so I bet she warned him lol. He was sent down to work on his game and that can be interpreted in many ways. I just read that the Habs brass wanted to send down Slafkovsky but Marty interceded and kept him in Montreal so I guess Marty could have lobbied to keep Arber here if he felt like doing so.

Don't change the way you play, that's why you're in the NHL, just don't overdo it.

I agree with you in principal. But it begs the question, does marketability tip the scales in favour of one player, relative to another. All things being equal between players, or even if one player is ever so slightly better, the marketability of the slight lesser player could become a business decision for a team. Notwithstanding they are in the business of winning, I get that. But, a team/owner focused solely on profits, especially a team already out of the playoffs, may choose the player more likely to draw crowds and sell jerseys.

But, I am speaking in hypotheticals, because I am with you ultimately and believe Wifi is getting called up for play.
This isn’t about marketing.. Gorton seemed to make thinly veiled comments about how soft Habs were vs Bruins on Melnick’s show. Barron & Harris were especially soft .. combine that aspect + Xhekaj has been performing well in Laval + Barron can be sent to AHL w/o waivers

I don't know how he does it.

@OldCraig71 managed to be in on a reservation that MSL, Hughes and Gorton made at a restaurant just before the Arber call-up. While he pretended to sleep, he was taking notes the whole time. Guy is lethal. :sarcasm:

Great news, with Anderson & Xhekaj out of the lineup Brady Tkachuk started acting up…..time to let him know the Sheriff decides who speaks, lol.

I expect some rough stuff tonight. There is clearly some heat between the Habs and the Sens

Fortunately the Sheriff is back. That should keep the Sens a little bit more honest

I think his answer is fine. Not every idiotic thought or disingenuous question needs to be entertained. It seems you're trying to convey that there's an off chance the fans influenced the decision. Sure, why not, Mary also told Lloyd there's a chance, the joke was still on him.

So I'm an idiot. Have I ever replied to you with this level of condescension?

Friend if you'd like to talk hockey, great. Judgmental posts I'll leave to others.

Nah, you're not an idiot and I never said you were. We all have our bright bulb moments. I have plenty of them, just go through the landfill I call my posting history.

Love Arber but would’ve preferred him playing top minutes in Laval. I don’t see how some people think this move is going to make that much of a difference in the standings to be honest. Sure he’s physically imposing but it’s not like he’s fighting or throwing thunderous hits every game. People seem to overestimate the whole “deterrent “ factor. Bottom line is, they don’t have an overly physical team. One guy isn’t going to change that.
I just hope this doesn’t hurt Lavals chances.

Obviously that was a great call by MSL. Perfect coach for a young team. Love MSL.
