The problem is, even if he's finding a groove in the AHL, he may still go back to the KHL instead of being in the AHL. I really don't want him going back.
He may. If he does, then that is on him and hope he enjoys Russia. There is a path for him to get to the NHL if he does his job and remains patient. Not going to fault the Flyers on this one just yet.

Played like a rookie goalie with very few pro hockey experience and no NHL experience. Was better than Fedotov. But thats not difficult. Would give him a chance over fedotov. But iam not really flashed by his play.

Anyone have any insight on how he played? Little confused about the one where Gallagher broke his stick?
I'm not the best goalie guy -- but he was okay IMO. Super shaky early on, looked weird making saves but made them for the most part.

Once he settled in, he started looking better. He moved well, and tracked the puck better. First and second goals weren't his fault. Third was a bit tough -- he was square to Caufield was a bit leaky.

the fourth where Gallagher broke his stick was just bad luck imo. The play slowed down like crazy, I don't think he expected Evans to be there. That's one of those weird plays that happens very infrequently.

But all in all, he's not the reason they lost. The Flyers mailed it in for 3/4ths of the game.

I think if they can get him more poised and self confident on the faster NHL pace he looks very exiting his agility and movement is elite. If this guy can look big in the net he is going to be very good right now he often looks smaller than he is just need the team play better in front of him and get more experience.

Given a taste of NA hockey, going back to the KHL isn't as big of an issue.
Though we don't even know if Minsk has a spot for him. Nor if he'd want to go anywhere else.
They have 3 goalies on the roster (one of them on IR).
The starter is playing about as well as Kolosov last season.

He's had a chance to see the difference, and they've had a chance to see him and work with him on where he needs to improve to succeed in NA.

That is something I noticed from the highlights. He has some pretty damn good lateral movement.

Had to have some nerves coming into the game. Gave up that bad goal but I think he should get another start or 2 before figuring out what to do with him.
The next B2B is November 30th, so hopefully a desperate Torts doesn't just start Ersson every game until then.

I think if Kolosov does well enough in his next game (maybe tonight against the Blues?), you could maybe see Fedotov being nudged further down the card, possibly into the AHL.
