I'd say every forward looks terrible other than ROR. Heck even Knies has had more chances than Matthews and Marner combined tonight, even with Matthews scoring.

Marner typically can be a monster but tonight he just seems really invisible.

Stamkos embarrassed himself with his fake tough guy act. Such a forced fight with Matthews too, but he probably knows he's trash on defense and can't penalty kill so why not take Matthews off for 5 minutes or more.

Marner got an assist too you know.

Marner has honestly been sub-par in 2 out of 3 games so far and he's racked up 8 points through 3 games. If the kid would just ramp his game up a bit he could be taking this thing home for us in 5.

Don't get me wrong I love the goals but we are not fundamentally playing well. I need to see actual hockey being played outside of just slapping the puck hard from far away. That play is gone now too they took it away.

And he did get assist yes but swap marner and nylander positions and I guarantee we lose.
