Pre-Game Talk: Apparently Skinner is starting Game 2

Here is where I would go tonight:

Draisaitl - McDavid - Perry
Kane - RNH - Hyman
Frederic - Henrique - Arivdsson
Podkolzin - Janmark - Brown
*Skinner out, but only for a game if Frederic doesn't show a sign of life

Nurse - Bouchard
Walman - Kulak
Dineen - Emberson

Pickard
Skinner

Start the game with the big dogs, get a lead, then balance the lines out if necessary. If they're going to end up together anyways, do it early so that they have a chance to maybe reduce their ice down the stretch in the game rather than play them 8 out of the last 10 minutes to save it.

Evan Bouchard needs to be taken aside for a talk about his puck choices. He is afraid of getting hit, and gave up two goals because of it. He needs to stop being such a p***y and eat pucks and wait for support if he has nowhere to go. We will not be able to control what the goalies do. However, this idiot can control not serving up pizzas every second shift and getting third assists on Kings goals. Knoblauch also needs to think about his deployment of Bouchard in tie or one goal games, because appears that he's the only guy that still just doesn't get it.

We are the better team than them, we just need to actually act like it to start the game this time. Start strong, get the lead, put the game away, manage the puck and stop the circus bullshit.

I don’t think starting skinner is the coaches decision 🤷‍♂️
Can Katz just get Schwartz his own office watching hours and hours of goalie footage from goalies from traditional hockey talent hotbeds like Portugal and Zimbabwe so that he stays the f*** away from our team and its goalies? kthxbye you f***ing plague to the organization.

Skinner comes into play 25 pounds heavier. Has a bad season. I wouldn’t blame 97 for not re-signing - you can’t have a guy playing goal who doesn’t take winning seriously
Connor should tell them that if he's their solution they better find another generational player to replace him.

Skinner was obviously going to start. I doubt Pickard was even considered.

They'll win today and use it as proof they were right until the next time shits the bed and we'll go through this exact process again.
IIl be sure to turn the game off when Stinker Stu gets scored on and I will follow this thread with glee knowing fools like you inhabit this board with your reckless optimism but please keep it up its making the odds of Skinner NOT letting in 3+ goals go haywire. Will wait till official confirmation to lock in my "Oilers fuk it all up due to goaltending and cant score til 2 mins left in a period so we lose 4-2 or some shit like that" pick.

It’s funny how everyone here is complaining about Skinner starting when Pickard might be even worse.

It’s not like we have Hellebuyck waiting in the wings folks

Pickard plays a competitive style and he has a way of finding saves in key moments.

Skinner folds at the first sign of any pressure.

They both suck, but one of them has the ability and wherewithal to compete and elevate beyond his normal capabilities at times. The other one just parks his ass on the line and hopes it hits him.

He sure didn't seem worse than Skinner when Stu was out with an injury. He also didn't seem worse than Skinner when he bailed him out against Vancouver last year in the playoffs.
