Love to see Kopi hit 1200. Just 15 more to go hopefully he can hit that by the end of this season.

We can all say what we want about Kopitar, if and when he should’ve been traded, but it’s no doubt he’s one of the top 50 or so players to ever play this game, a first ballot HoFer, and the greatest King of all time.
Kopitar is great but jut feel Marcel Dionne doesn't get enough credit. He didn't win I know but damn he was an unbelievable talent that get's forgotten sometimes.

He’s 193 points away from passing Robitaille for 24th all time. He’s got at least two years after this season. If he plays another three seasons and can average 65 points, he could get there. He’s also likely to be the 34th or 35th player to record 800 assists, with Malkin 10 assists away and Kopitar 15 assists away. Even just two more seasons at 60 points likely gets him into the top 35 ahead of Gilbert Perrault with 1326.

Would love to see Kopitar pass Robitaille. It's possible, maybe even probable if they finally start easing up his minutes a bit.

Also looking at the all time list, pretty wild that Lemieux is 8th all time only have played 915 games. You have to go all the way down to 42nd to find the next player on the list that played less than 1,000. Dude was a beast.

What an accomplishment, especially given kopitar plays 200 feet and Ciccarelli only played the 2 in the blue paint

That would be phenomenal!!! Whomever coaches this team next year will have to cut his minutes down if he's going to have any gas left in the tank. Insane how much Todd 1 and Todd 2 continue play him.

Can’t help but think that Kopi would have more points now if he had better linemates throughout his career. Who do you all think would’ve been Kopitar’s perfect winger back in his prime? I always thought him and Rick Nash would’ve made magic out there.
Alexander Ovechkin.

And Dwight King.

Guys like Brown, like Anders Lee

Kopitar always thrived with at least one other PWF/big possession guy who played a simple north/south game and a good passer on the other side, his bst years were always Brown, Smyth, Williams--with a small side of Gaborik

Maybe something like Marchand-Kopitar-Benn

Is also why I really wanted Mantha this deadline

When I think of Kopitar I do not think of one of the 50 top point scorers in league history. I think of how awesome he is at both ends of the ice. Such an underrated stud that we are so lucky fell to LA. Columbus Blue Jackets were doing LA favors well before Carter...just did not know it.

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.

He's also nearing top 50 in regular season games played. If he plays the two seasons of his contract, he should finish in the top 20 at around 1520 games. One thing that's really underrated about him is his health. He almost never misses games.
