9am should really be the earliest one can cut grass on a non-work day.
I agree. Today at 830 was the earliest I've ever cut it. It's usually in the evening on week days after work. But I'm gonna be out of town Thursday through Sunday this week so it had to get done. I felt ok doing it considering I was one of about 8 mowers going during that time around my house. Everyone else had the same idea.

I have a neighbor that gets theirs cut by a service. They start at 7am on the button every week... pisses me off constantly. It's usually a Monday. I've been woken up by them numerous times when I've taken Mondays off.

Looking at the 15 day forecast at weather.com and nothing but 70s/80s and sunshine coming up. :yo:

Same here actually, for the most part. We got a hot weekend because of the tropical storm pushing all that warm, humid air up here. On a good note, the wind picked up and there's a nice breeze. Pushed the humidity out. Went from 70% at 830 to about 50% now.

We got about an hour worth of intense storms yesterday that brought some pretty good hail. Got caught in it while I was out on the bike but was able to find somewhere to chill for a bit to let it pass. It was pretty cool, you just saw this real nasty looking storm with a lot of lightning creeping over the mountains towards the city. Looked like something out of Independence Day or something.

Random as all get out but how do you take eggs out of the carton? Girlfriend goes left to right whereas I start in the middle and work my way to the edges in an effort to keep the carton more balanced.

She told me that's some serial killer ****.

I grab them at random with no pattern and check to see if any are cracked before using them

Done that before too. For my brother in laws bachelor party a bunch of years ago we were paintballing in 85 degree weather in August. It sucked.

Yeah, 95 degrees out was nasty. Everyone was caught between the "dress to not feel pain" and "dress to not feel hot" dilemma. I went in the middle and wore a t-shirt and jeans. Some people went all long clothes, some people went shorts and t-shirt. My body hates me right now. I think I got heat exhausting to be honest. Recovered in the evening yesterday after a cool shower and a bowl of Ramen. No food or any drinks (water/Gatorade/beer/etc.) sounded good so I just had some Ramen and water to rehydrate.

Walking in your 25 story office building at 7am after a very hot holiday weekend... to find that some dumbass didn't turn the A/C on and the entire building is over 80 degrees... Fun times. Get to be miserable for a few hours until it cools down...

I'll echo this. My lawn grows like crazy of late.
For me, it's just the back yard. My front yard gets almost 100% sun, and it's also graded down towards the street, so it doesn't retain a ton of water. I get two weeks out of a cut on the front. The back, though, has been every 4-5 days this entire season so far.

Almost identical situations for me except my front yard still needs a cut after a week. Back yard needed it again after like 3 or 4 days.

In another news, looking into upgrading my aquarium to a larger size, possibly.

I was probably exaggerating the two weeks. It's probably closer to 10 days or so.

If you upgrade, one of these lights will work well for anything up to about 40g. Bigger than 40g, and you'll want two of them side by side. They're amazing. My tank has been so much better, and corals showing amazing growth/reproduction/color ever since I switched to this light. And you can customize it very easily, also. Swap different color LEDs in. I need to remove the two red and two green and put in some purples. The red and green aren't necessary for saltwater tanks. And the replacement LEDs are simple to swap with a soldering iron, and like $4 apiece. Not a sales pitch by any means. No affiliation. Just think it's an amazing light. Most people who buy it think the same. Mods if I'm breaking a rule of any kind, just remove the link and I'll PM it to him.

I'll look into it, thanks. I'm definitely not going any larger than 40g. Probably something like a 29g (I have a 12g cube currently). What I like about my tank now is in addition to the day-lighting I have a nightlight/moonlight feature I can flip on at night for a while that's really cool. I'd like to have something similar with a new tank.

It's a little overwhelming because the one I have now all came together; tank, lighting, filtration is all in an overflow in the back, came with a pump and powerhead, etc. Getting something bigger I have to get a lot of these things separately most likely in addition to other things like a protein skimmer and heater. I just want to make sure I know exactly what I need and then the cost, cuz the cost of it may prevent me from doing it for a while.

I initially hadn't planned to upgrade just yet, but we're moving the current tank to a different area so I have to drain it and go through all the trouble of moving it. I figured if I'm doing that anyway I'd just as soon get a bigger tank and go that route since I'm going through all the trouble anyway, but I also don't want to drop a ton of money on it either right now. So doing the research and see what it looks like.

I also know I can sell my current one so I'll get some of the money back. We'll see.

Yeah, the downside of buying something other than a cube is having to purchase everything individually. Protein skimmer is a must, and will likely run $100-200. Heater is cheap, like $25-40. You'll probably need two powerheads, two different powers, and they'll run about $30-40 apiece. I use Hydor Koralia Evolutions, one 850 and one 1150. I think As far as lighting, if you want something that will have the moonlight type effects, and other things, expect to pay a pretty penny. Current Marine Orbit makes a light with these features, including rainstorms and automatic dimming like sunrise and sunset, but you have to get the "Pro" version. The standard one for like $100-150 isn't adequate for good coral growth. Figure like $300-500 for a good light with the features you'd want. The light I linked has the ability to adjust blue/white channels individually, so you can basically turn on the moonlight effect if you'd like with this one, though it's not quite the same as what you're talking about(I know exactly the effect you're talking about, my old light had that function). With this one, basically you plug each separate channel into a timer as they have separate power cords for white/blue channels. Have the whites go off at 8pm or whenever, then leave just the blue channel on for an hour or whatever. They also have individual switches, so you can flip it on/off manually if you wanted. A popular tank is a 40g breeder. They're not as tall as a standard 30-40g tank, so getting corals to explode with color and reproduction is quite a bit easier with lesser lighting. If you wanted to sacrifice the moonlight effect, the light I linked is great, especially at that price point. You won't find better for $100.
