Anyone knows how to get rid of raccoons?

We used to have skunks & raccoons having a turf war in our backyard. Even caught the raccoon swimming in the pool one night. Animal control would never do anything cause they said we lived in a "rural" area. Once we got a dog again they left & never came back. Get a dog.

Tin foil and Cayenne pepper in their traffic routes. Don't know why it works, but it did for me. Varmints gone, and no one got hurt. Except me when the wife was out of tinfoil.
