Anyone else feel like the rest of the U.S.'s Pool A tournament is irrelevant?

I think the OP's point wasn't "is the Pool irrelevent" as much as "are the rest of Team USA's games irrelevant". Obviously there is much at stake for the other teams and someone is going to get into the medal round due to this favorable divisional alignment. As for the U.S., yes, they should cruise to a semifinal bye, but it's the way they get there that matters most. They will need to improve their overall game as the tournament progresses or they will find their tournament could hit a roadblock in the semis. It's the journey as much as the destination.

All of pool A is irrelevant

All of pool B is irrelevant.

No, just Pool A.

Even in that pool, the US has looked utterly beatable in all of their games so far.

If Finland and Slovakia are going to push them that hard, they need to pick it up or get slaughtered by Sweden, Canada or Russia.
