Any way the Sharks trade Clowe?

There is no way Gomez should be in the top-6. I may be alone here, but he didn't impress me at all. I'd much rather have Galiardi in the top-6; he's looked really fantastic despite being saddled with Handzus.

Gomez is skating fine but there isn't alot of sharpness to his game yet. Hes been a mixed bag so far for me.

Really? I think Gomez has looked good so far. He has show some good play-making ability and he looks like he has much better puck control than anyone else in the bottom 6.

I didn't like the holding the stick and the tripping calls. He knows better. His "high stick" penalty was just a bad call by the official which led to his meltdown. Should he have kept his cool? Definetly hes a veteran player but I don't blame him for being upset. He plays on the edge and sometimes he goes over it.

That high stick was a bad call and I don't mind if Clowe sometimes goes over the edge, that's always been part of his game. But he had a full on 3 year old temper tantrum melt down yesterday, that, to me, isn't acceptable.

He'll hear it from McLellan and move on. Maybe this is what he needed to get back to playing to his strenghts.

He just looks rusty & a little slow, and I expect him to improve. I've been happy with what I've seen so far (but I'm not expecting a lot either).

Exactly. His hands haven't caught up to his feet yet plus playing with new teammates. He did set up Havlat with a sweet pass on the pp.

It's not hard to look like you have better puck control than Handzus, Desjardins, Wingels, Galiardi, and Burish...

It's not that he hasn't looked decent, but it's that he doesn't look like, even when the rust wears off, he should be in any team in the league's top-6. People's expectations here are sky-high. I'll be happy if he manages to be an average #3C who doesn't bleed scoring chances against and can put up a 30 point pace.

Thats what im thinking. He got his seasonal blow up out of the way. I wish he didn't get tossed because I want him to beat up Bieksa

Yeh he shouldn't have gotten the misconduct.....we've seen it before, he gets very passionate.
Honestly though, at the point in the season why the in the blazes would you want to trade him? He has been a absolute force in front of the net, there have already been a handful of goals that were helped by his presence and screening. He is our Holmstrom, only he drops the gloves. He is also a very accountable leader and is one of the few players that speaks his mind.
There is no reason to trade him,he will be more valuable for a playoff run then what he would return. Either he signs at a discount with us and continues to wear the A,or takes the money somewhere else, either one is respectable.

What Clowe did last night was absolutely unacceptable, and I would have been furious with him if I was one of his teammates. 33 penalty minutes? Trying to destroy the penalty box with his stick & yelling at the ref? Getting out-muscled on a play, and his response is to hold the guys stick? Not to mention how much time we spent killing penalties instead of being in 5 on 5 situations. Just absolute amateur hour, and like someone else said, I don't expect this circus act from a 2nd line player. The one that irked me the most was him instigaiting a fight when we're up 2-0. Why would you do that, and risk swinging the momenteum to the Canucks? And what also irked me, is how many fans loved the Clowe show last night...that's not hockey, it's buffoonery.

There is no point in trading him now for the reason mentioned before (trade value too low). However, he needs to do two things. 1) Be moved to the 3rd line 2) Play like a PF instead of trying to live a dream that he's a slick stick handling & scoring Euro. He's holding back Havlat & Corture's production, because he doesn't have the same skill set & can't keep up with them (he hasn't looked like his legs are under him all season). If he plays a meat & potatoes game on the 3rd line, them we have a Stanley Cup caliber team...but he can't be on the 2nd line anymore (and no, I don't know who to promote...that's another problem).

Pumped the Sharks are 5-0, but we can't continue to have Clowe & the 2nd line be a black hole, especially when the non-production is due to Ben Eager like stunts.

Receiving soo many calls by a ref is total cause for him being upset. Yes some calls were deserved, but some were not. Clowe did not instigate the fight with ZK. he answered the call and beat the crap out of him. He also didn't get outmuscled on the other play, he was caught flat footed and was knocked down by sort of a cheapshot, so he marginally grabbed the other guys stick and gets called (there's reason to be upset there, the ref could have called the other guy for charging, but didn't). I could easily pick apart the other two 2nd liners games from last night too. It seems you have much too much criticism of just one player.

It's not like this is Clowe's first braindead antics/tantrum moment. This is the guy (yes, I laughed my freaking ass off too, I admit) who reached over the bench and played a puck on a breakaway last season. Maybe the ref's are a bit out to get him for getting away with that, who knows. Point is if you are pissed off take it out on the other team, not the ref's, not the poor guy sitting in the penalty box who looked terrified when Clowe was losing it (I don't blame him).

Surprised more people aren't comparing yesterday's Clowe antics to Eager, especially given they were playing the Canucks.

Probably because we won the game. Eager is unfairly blamed for the loss. Oh here's a crazy person, let's say he lost it for us. I would still have liked him on our team.

It seems that you like Clowe too much to be objective about how he behaved last night. If I seem too focused on Clowe, it's because he was the only guy acting like a Tazmanian devil throwing a tantrum. He deserved every one of those calls, and there is a huge difference between being upset about a call, and going ape in the box after the fact.

Honestly, I liked Ben Eager too. He was big, fast, tough, and had skill. He was an undisciplined player at times, though. If he could control that, he would be a solid 3rd/4th line winger.

McGinn-Desi-Eager would be like the best line in the world. Absolute destruction of a line.... and then DW got rid of both. :(

You should see what Avs fans think of McGinn right now, before you criticize DW.

Some people just don't understand the concept of an elevated shooting percentage. It sucks that those people are going to pop-up in a week or two when Marleau comes back down to earth.

Clowe is definitely holding the second line back at this point. They just have too much speed and skill that he can't keep up.

He may not have instigated the fight against Kassian, but when you're up 2-0 why would you even risk shifting the momentum the other way? It's a fight that people dress up as team bonding, but really it's just a selfish play to pad his own stats.

I don't have an issue with the other fights because they actually were in response to something, but Clowe dropped the gloves for no reason at the worst time.

Right? I'm waiting for everyone to do a 180 once Marleau stops shooting the lights out. Luckily, Pavs isn't shooting the lights out, so hopefully he starts to get more shots off.

Eager sucks. He has decent hands and speed/size, but he uses it poorly and isn't smart offensively.

I personally think Clowe might have a screw loose. He looks absolutely psychotic when he's in the middle of his meltdowns.

Clowe is NOT my favorite player on the team, I am certainly not biased towards him, but the last thing I would do is chastize a guy for showing passion and emotion, two things that are exactly what the Sharks need to be successful.
