Just curious what teams might offer for Cirelli.

27 years old, 6'0", 190 lbs. Just nominated for the Selke.

Lightning needs: Power forwards in the top/middle 6, some grit and size throughout the lineup, some serviceable defensive D.

Willing to add, but the cupboards are pretty bare for the Bolts these days.

I like Buffalo as a trading partner. Would love Thompson or Tuch, and obviously Dahlin, but he's not realistic for Cirelli I'd imagine.

Lets hear what ya got.

Habs would sure be in the mix for this guy,, he could fit the second C role.

What would you want from the Habs ?
We have a whole bunch of young NHL ready players

Just a thought but to sweeten the deal, why not add Howard's rights since his agent seems to be dead set against signing in Tampa Bay?

Would love him on the Habs but don't think we're good trading partners.

If anything 3 way trade could be worked out where a re-building team gets picks Habs get cirelli and Lighting get a player they need I'd be in.

If you want a forward...Peterka

If you want a D .. Byram.

Neither are Thompson (lol) or Tuch, unless he’s completely uninterested in re-signing here, which doesn’t seem super likely since he’s from the area.

Byram and Rosen for Cirelli minor tweaks here and there.

Or Cirelli and Cernak for Byram and Petera. Kinda defeats the Op's idea of adding size and defense though which is what Buffalo needs so don't see it flying.

i do not think there is a remote chance that Tampa is interested in Byram, we just traded away a much better one-dimensional offensively minded defenseman we're not looking for another one

I think this would be a BIG mistake for Tampa they would regret this VERY quickly.

It might be different if he was 32 or 33 years old.

But he's 27 and like you said just nominated for the Selke.

This seems like a HORRIBLE idea.

He's not 34 like Stamkos was.

If you're trying to contend for a Cup, is Cirelli a true 2C or is he more of a high end 3C? I get the Selke part, but his 59 points this year were the highest total of his career - for context, who is he playing with on TBL? He's making $6.25M for 6 more years. IDK.

Would definitely like him in Montreal but only really have futures to deal which probably isn't what's wanted. Buffalo for sure has the pieces and that would be a good add

Why would Tampa have any interest in the futures they’d get for Cirelli? They aren’t getting a better cheaper younger player in return and they aren’t likely to be able to package Cirelli with a second tier asset for a top tier player. He’s exactly what Tampa Bay needs given they are not going to blow it up.
